About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Healthcare Accountant with hands-on experience in US Healthcare Accounting and financial operations. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of General Ledger Accounting, healthcare revenue, accounts receivable, payment reconciliation, medical billing reconciliation, month-end close and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day accounting activities for US healthcare clients/entities.
- Maintain General Ledger and healthcare-related accounting records.
- Reconcile patient revenue, insurance receivables and medical billing transactions with accounting records.
- Perform Bank, Balance Sheet, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable reconciliations.
- Review healthcare revenue and investigate billing-to-accounting discrepancies.
- Support revenue recognition and accounting for healthcare services.
- Prepare and post Journal Entries, Accruals, prepayments, and accounting adjustments.
- Support Month-End, Quarter-End and Year-End Close activities.
- Prepare financial statements, management reports and supporting schedules.
- Analyze revenue, collections, expenses and financial variances.
- Reconcile payments received from patients, insurance companies and other payers where applicable.
- Work closely with Medical Billing, Revenue Cycle Management and Operations teams to resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Support audit requirements and provide financial documentation and reconciliation schedules.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, company accounting policies and internal controls.




- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve healthcare accounting, reconciliation and reporting processes.

Key Software QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, SAP, Oracle, Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Microsoft Excel, Power BI; experience with other healthcare, accounting, ERP or EHR systems will also be considered.

Accounting & Compliance Knowledge

US Healthcare Accounting, US GAAP, Healthcare Finance, Healthcare Revenue, Revenue Recognition, Medical Billing Reconciliation, Revenue Cycle Management, Patient Revenue, Insurance Receivables, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Bank Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Payment Reconciliation, Month-End Close, Financial Reporting, Internal Controls, Audit Documentation.

Qualifications & Skills

- B.Com / M.Com / MBA Finance / Accounting or a related field.
- CA, CPA or candidates pursuing/progressing toward a relevant professional qualification preferred.
- 3-8 years of relevant experience in Healthcare Accounting, US Accounting, Healthcare Finance or Finance Operations.
- Hands-on experience supporting US healthcare organizations, providers or healthcare clients preferred.
- Strong understanding of General Ledger, reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Experience with healthcare revenue, medical billing reconciliation or Revenue Cycle Management preferred.
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets.
- Ability to work effectively with Billing, RCM, Operations and Finance teams.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain high accuracy in financial records.
