Role Overview

Big Sam’s is looking for a highly capable and hands-on Head of Operations to lead and strengthen the company’s end-to-end operations across factory / processing operations, inventory, warehousing, cold chain, dispatch, logistics, and fulfilment.

This is a leadership role for someone who is equally comfortable on the ground and in planning mode — someone who can bring structure, improve process discipline, increase efficiency, reduce wastage, and ensure smooth day-to-day execution across a fast-growing perishables business.

The role is ideal for an operator who has experience in food, seafood, FMCG, perishables, cold chain, or related manufacturing / supply chain environments, and who enjoys building teams, systems, and accountability in a growing company.

Key Responsibilities

1. End-to-End Operations Leadership

- Lead day-to-day operations across factory / processing, warehousing, inventory, dispatch, logistics, and fulfilment.
- Ensure strong coordination across the full operating chain from inbound material flow to final customer delivery.
- Build a reliable and scalable operating rhythm across teams and functions.

2. Factory / Processing Operations

- Oversee factory / processing operations to ensure output targets, quality standards, efficiency, and compliance are consistently met.
- Drive production planning in line with sales forecasts, inventory needs, and customer demand.
- Improve manpower productivity, line efficiency, yield, and wastage control.
- Ensure strong SOP adherence across processing, packing, hygiene, sanitation, and dispatch readiness.
- Work closely with quality teams to maintain product integrity and food safety standards.

3. Supply Chain, Inventory & Warehouse Management

- Oversee inventory planning and stock movement across fresh and frozen categories.
- Strengthen inventory accuracy, stock rotation,



batch control, and traceability.
- Ensure warehousing and cold storage operations are run efficiently and with strong controls.
- Minimize stock loss, damage, and wastage through better planning and discipline.

4. Fulfilment, Dispatch & Logistics

- Ensure timely, accurate, and efficient order fulfilment across B2C and B2B channels.
- Improve dispatch planning, route coordination, delivery performance, and operational responsiveness.
- Maintain strong cold chain discipline across storage and transportation.
- Manage logistics partners and internal teams to achieve service and cost targets.

5. Process Improvement & Controls

- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement process improvements across factory and supply chain functions.
- Build and standardize SOPs, reporting systems, and review mechanisms.
- Introduce performance tracking across key metrics such as fulfilment, wastage, yield, output, order accuracy, turnaround time, and productivity.
- Ensure operational discipline, root-cause problem solving, and continuous improvement across teams.

6. Team Leadership

- Lead and manage teams across factory, warehouse, dispatch, logistics, and related operational functions.
- Build a culture of ownership, accountability, hygiene, discipline, and execution excellence.
- Train and develop team members and strengthen leadership at the supervisor / manager level.

7. Cross-Functional Coordination

- Work closely with sourcing, sales, customer experience, quality, and finance teams to align operational execution with business goals.
- Support new product launches, process upgrades, and capacity planning as the business scales.
- Ensure operational readiness to support business growth without compromising product quality or service.

Candidate Profile
- 8–14 years of experience in operations, factory operations, supply chain, manufacturing, logistics, or fulfilment
- Strong preference for candidates from food, seafood, meat, frozen foods, FMCG, perishables, cold chain, or similar industries
- Experience managing both factory / processing operations and downstream supply chain / fulfilment functions
- Strong understanding of production planning, warehouse operations, inventory, dispatch, and process controls
- Proven ability to improve efficiency, reduce wastage, and strengthen operational discipline
- Hands-on leadership style with strong problem-solving ability
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Solid people management and cross-functional coordination skills
- Experience with food safety, hygiene, and compliance standards is strongly preferred

Compensation
- CTC: Up to ₹30 lakh per annum, depending on experience and fit

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: ₹200,000.00 - ₹300,000.00 per month
