JOB ROLE
Controllership & Reporting
- Own the books across all group entities accurate, complete & closed on time, every month.
- Drive a disciplined month-end close with a fixed calendar; no surprises in the numbers.
- Produce branch-wise, business-line-wise & job-wise P&L; make gross profit visible where it is actually earned or lost.
- Prepare group consolidation, statutory financials & the annual report pack.
- Manage statutory, internal & tax audits end to end clean books, clean opinions.
Business MIS & Planning
- Build & run the monthly MIS pack that leadership actually uses to decide revenue, GP, cost lines, manpower cost, branch profitability, DSO.
- Own the annual budget & rolling forecast; hold branches & business heads to it.
- Deliver cost analytics — cost per job, cost per branch, salary-to-GP, overhead absorption — & flag leakage before it compounds.
- Business-partner with Business Heads & Branch Heads on pricing, credit decisions & current-lane investment cases.
Working Capital, Treasury & Credit
- Own working capital: receivables, payables, customer advances, duty disbursement float & cash conversion cycle.
- Run credit control with teeth — credit policy, customer limits, ageing discipline, escalation & recovery. Drive DSO down.
- Manage banking relationships,
CC/OD & term facilities, bank guarantees, customs bonds & LC documentation.
- Manage forex exposure on overseas agent payables & receivables; oversee agent settlement, netting & reconciliation.
Taxation & Statutory Compliance
- Own GST end to end — output, input credit, RCM, SAC classification, returns, reconciliations & departmental matters.
- Own direct tax — TDS/TCS, advance tax, assessments, appeals & tax audit.
- Ensure Companies Act, ROC, FEMA & related statutory compliance across entities.
- Manage advisors & counsel; represent the company before authorities where required.
Systems, Controls & Process
- Own the finance module of the ERP; drive data integrity between operations & accounts so the P&L; ties back to the job file.
- Build & enforce internal financial controls, delegation of authority, SOPs & a documented approval matrix.
- Ensure a complete, tamper-evident audit trail in line with statutory requirements.
- Push automation & reporting discipline — fewer spreadsheets, more system-generated truth.
Team & Leadership
- Lead the corporate finance team & the accounts staff spread across branches — hire, structure, train & hold accountable.
- Set daily & monthly reporting rhythm for branch accounts; standardise how every branch books & reports.
- Build a bench. Develop the person who can run this function when you move up.
