Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced General Manager Purchase & Sourcing to lead strategic procurement, sourcing, localization, cost optimization and supplier development for a rigid plastic packaging and injection moulding manufacturing business.

The ideal candidate should have solid experience in raw material procurement, injection moulding components, imports, costing, localization and strategic sourcing, with a proven track record of delivering cost savings and developing a robust supplier base.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the overall Purchase, Procurement and Strategic Sourcing function.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for raw materials, injection moulding parts, packaging components and indirect materials.
- Manage procurement of key plastic raw materials including polymers, compounds, additives and related materials.
- Identify, evaluate and develop domestic and international suppliers.
- Handle import procurement, including overseas sourcing, commercial negotiations, logistics coordination and landed-cost evaluation.
- Drive localization of imported materials and components to improve cost competitiveness and supply security.
- Lead supplier negotiations covering price, payment terms, MOQ, lead time, quality and delivery.
- Develop detailed costing and should-cost models for raw materials, moulded components and packaging products.
- Conduct market analysis for polymers, plastics and other key raw materials to identify cost trends and sourcing opportunities.
- Drive annual cost reduction, VA/VE and procurement savings initiatives.
- Work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, R&D; and Finance teams for new product development and sourcing decisions.




- Develop alternate suppliers and dual-sourcing strategies to minimize supply-chain risks.
- Monitor supplier performance, capacity, quality, delivery and commercial competitiveness.
- Lead supplier audits, qualification and development in coordination with Quality and Technical teams.
- Establish long-term strategic relationships with key suppliers.
- Ensure procurement processes comply with company policies, commercial controls and statutory requirements.
- Lead and mentor the Purchase and Sourcing team.

Required Experience
- 1525 years of overall experience in Purchase, Procurement and Strategic Sourcing.
- Strong experience in Rigid Plastic Packaging / Injection Moulding / Plastic Manufacturing.
- Extensive exposure to raw material purchasing and polymer procurement.
- Experience in sourcing injection moulded parts and plastic components.
- Strong experience in imports and international sourcing.
- Proven expertise in product costing, raw material costing, landed-cost analysis and price benchmarking.
- Demonstrated experience in localization of imported materials/components.
- Strong supplier development and negotiation skills.
- Experience in driving measurable cost reduction and value engineering initiatives.
- Strong understanding of plastic raw-material markets and supplier ecosystems.

Educational Qualification BE/B.Tech / MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations or related discipline preferred.
