:-

- Responsible for leading, planning and managing all operations related to Iron Making, to include:

- MBF ,Sinter Plant. PCI, Crushing

- Raw Material Handling System

- Planning for material selection

- Assisting support to Maintenance activities for Iron Making division (both

- Electrical and Mechanical)

- The role holder is responsible to ensure optimum quality hot metal with lowest cost, ensuring maximum output. Towards this, the role incumbent is also responsible for overall cost control and effective resource utilization for ensuring quality, productivity and profitability of the operations.

- The role holder is also responsible for leading technical innovation, new modifications & changes, for Iron Making.

- Towards the above, the role holder is also responsible for leading and managing a team of managers and a large execution team.

- Responsible for translation of annual production plan for Blast Furnace into material requirement planning and ensuring optimal shop loading towards timely completion of production plan.

- Responsible for insuring availability of Hot Metal to NOF/BOF as per their requirement and timely maintenance at Blast Furnace

- Responsible for achieving production targets & meeting delivery, quality and profitability by optimum utilization of resources.

- Controlling and Stabilizing process to attain rated capacity throughput

- Minimizing Operational delays

- Ensuring maximum plant/equipment availibity by proactively identifying areas of obstruction/ breakdowns and taking steps and applying trouble shooting techniques





- Identify bottlenecks, suggest schemes for debottlenecking/plant improvements to the management, take approvals and implement.

- Creating infrastructure, facilities & streamlining process flow for higher production.

- Implementation of corrective and preventive action with regard to non-conformity of material.

- Co-ordinate with electrical and mechanical departments for planned maintenance.

- Planning & budgeting for departmental activities, allocation of funds, guidance for optimum utilization of resources and implementation of cost reduction techniques.

- Drive Inventory Management &
- Cost Control Measures with focus on:

- Inventory Raw Material &

- Spares

- Lower cost of production

- Energy Conservation & other Cost Cutting Efforts

- Co-ordinate with procurement team to reduce procurement cost and delivery time.

- Drive Quality Assurance Practices to ensure product quality

- Ensure compliance to SOPs, Manuals &

- Work Instructions for production operations and create a disciplined, healthy and safe working environment for plant personnel.

- Ensure effective implementation of the Quality Management System &





- Environmental Management System and OHSAS in the department.

- Oversee key organizational development initiatives, e.g. capability building, succession planning, talent management.

MIS and Reporting:-

- Review and verify the reports generated by the team.

- Perform a detailed analysis on the reports generated and present it to the top management by way of presentations.

- Update the top management on the activities carried out and the issues occurred at the plant.

- Daily meetings with the team on the agenda for the day.

- Benchmarking of performance wrt process parameter and cost of operation.

Team Management & adherence of Safety &

- Environmental Norms:-

- Work with the Safety team towards ensuring a safe working environment and zero accidents in all operations

- Ensure meaningful engagement of the team, plan for manpower for the department, ensure effective utilization of the manpower, and make recommendation for hiring and/ or reducing headcount

- Establish stretched targets for the team and monitor the performance on the basis of the achieved targets.

- Identify the training needs for the department employees and ensure provisioning of the training to the team in liaison with HR.

- Delegate, coordinate and follow up on the work allotted to the employees to ensure that all their issues are addressed on time.

- Resolve the issues within the team members and ensure a positive work setting.

- Provide ongoing coaching & guide to the team members.

- Ensure discipline at work place.
