Role & responsibilities

- Manage end-to-end procurement of fruits and vegetables.
- Source quality produce at competitive prices from farmers, suppliers, and vendors.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers.
- Monitor market prices, seasonal trends, demand, and availability.
- Ensure optimum stock levels, freshness, quality, and minimal wastage.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Coordinate with Stores, Supply Chain, Quality, and Merchandising teams.
- Analyse sales, margins, inventory, shrinkage, and wastage to improve profitability.
- Ensure compliance with quality, food safety, and company procurement standards.

Preferred candidate profile

Robust knowledge of fruits & vegetables and fresh produce markets

Experience in retail buying/procurement

Strong negotiation and vendor-management skills

Understanding of seasonal sourcing, pricing, quality, and margins

Good analytical and communication skills

Experience with large-format retail, supermarket, hypermarket, or FMCG preferred
