South Delhi · On-site · Full-time A role for someone who refuses to specialise yet.
There is a kind of person who is good at too many things to fit a job title. They can hold an architecture argument in the morning, rebuild a budget model over lunch, and spend the evening arguing about why a particular game's progression loop works. In most companies this person is a problem — nobody knows which department they belong to. In a bootstrapped company building something new, they are the most valuable person in the room.
Blowtrumpet is building a full programmatic advertising stack — a DSP, an SSP, an exchange, and the platform beneath them. That means a hard engineering problem, an unformed market position, a product surface nobody has designed properly, and a company that has to be built at the same time as the software. All four need someone thinking about them.
The thesis you have to share
You cannot design for mediocrity and arrive at excellence.
Ad-tech interfaces are, almost without exception, hostile. Dense tables, buried controls, no sense of momentum, nothing that rewards the person using them. The industry decided long ago that because the users are professionals, the experience does not have to be good.
We think that is a failure of ambition. The best software people use every day is built the way games are built: with a clear sense of what the player is trying to do, feedback that makes progress visible, systems that reveal depth gradually, and a reason to come back. Not manipulation — craft. A trader opening a campaign dashboard should feel the same clarity a good game gives you in its first ten minutes: I understand this, I am getting better at it, and there is more here than I have seen.
If you have thought seriously about game design and want to apply that thinking somewhere it has never been applied, this role exists for that.
What you will do
Build things that do not exist yet
- Draw up specification sheets, project plans, and budgets from a standing start
- Define software architecture and argue for it against people who will push back
- Design for scale in advertising — traffic, latency, cost per bid, and what breaks at each order of magnitude
Shape the market position
- Study market potential, growth paths, and expansion plans with real rigour
- Curate where we appear and who we appear alongside
- Work the events and conference circuit, and build inroads into the ad-tech suite of buyers, sellers, and platforms
- Turn all of that into a position we can defend publicly
Build the company
- Hire, build teams, and coach people who are earlier than you
- Create the projects, then create the structure that makes them finishable
- Hold quality when the pressure is to ship something adequate
Design the experience
- Bring game design thinking into product surfaces: progression, feedback, clarity, depth
- Make dense qualified software something people want to open
What we are looking for
- Out-of-the-box thinking that has produced results. Not a self-description. Things you built, positions you took early, problems you solved sideways
- An engineering graduate qualification. Tier-1 institutes preferred, stated plainly rather than filtered quietly, but exceptional demonstrated ability overrides institution. The degree itself is not negotiable
- Real fluency across the technical and the commercial. Architecture on one side, budgets and market sizing on the other,
and no visible effort switching between them
- Serious engagement with game design and game technology. Systems you have studied or built, mechanics you can dissect, an understanding of why some experiences hold attention and most do not
- Ambition with a specific object. You want to do something brilliant, and you have a sense of what
- Strong writing and speaking. You will represent this company to engineers, to partners, and to rooms full of strangers at conferences
- Willingness to work on-site in South Delhi. Whiteboards, hardware, and the team in one room
Terms
Early-stage bootstrapping. No large safety net, constraints on everything, and a direct relationship between what you decide and what exists three months later.
Serious about ad-tech. This is not a side project or something to run alongside other work. We are early enough that half-commitment is worse than none.
How we hire
Expect a long conversation, a problem worked through with us rather than for us, and a discussion of something you built where we keep asking why until we reach the bottom of your reasoning.
We are looking for the bottom to be deep.
How to apply
Visit our website before you apply. Include your PIN code in your CV. When asked in the interview process, provide Flight No. AI 176 for ready reference.
Send your CV with a note covering:
1. Something you built or started that did not exist before you, and what it took
2. A game whose design you admire, dissected — the specific systems, not the atmosphere
3. A market you think is mispriced or misunderstood, and why
4. What you find structurally interesting, or structurally broken, about programmatic advertising
Review all details carefully. Provide the number after AI with the flight number in the . If all requirements in the description are not, we will not be processing the application.
