Designation: Senior Design Engineer – Mechanical

Reporting To: Head – Design / Head – Engineering

Location: Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra

Industry: Laser Machine Manufacturing / Industrial Automation / Special Purpose Machinery

Experience: 5–10 Years

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop laser machines, SPMs, automation systems and robotic systems.
- Develop 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, GA drawings and BOMs.
- Design machine structures, fixtures, tooling, enclosures, mechanisms and assemblies.
- Design precision systems for laser cutting, welding, marking, drilling, cleaning, scribing, cladding and hardening.
- Develop customized SPMs, conveyors, job handlers and line-automation equipment.
- Perform mechanical calculations and select bearings, shafts, motors, gearboxes, ball screws, linear guides, pneumatic components, etc.
- Ensure proper tolerances, fits, GD&T;, alignment and precision.
- Coordinate with Electrical, Automation, Production, Purchase, Quality and Service teams.
- Support prototype development, machine assembly, testing, FAT and commissioning.
- Troubleshoot and resolve design, fabrication and assembly problems.




- Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
- Review designs and drawings prepared by junior engineers.
- Optimize designs for cost, performance, reliability and manufacturability.
- Maintain accurate BOMs, drawings, revisions and technical documentation.
- Guide and mentor Junior Design Engineers.

Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of machine design and mechanical engineering.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks / AutoCAD / Creo / CATIA or equivalent.
- Good knowledge of GD&T;, tolerances and engineering drawings.
- Experience with machining, fabrication, welding and sheet-metal components.
- Knowledge of mechanisms, motion systems, bearings, shafts, gears, belts and linear motion components.
- Knowledge of pneumatics, motors and gearboxes.
- Experience in SPM / automation / robotics / laser machinery preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and design-analysis skills.
- Valuable team coordination and technical leadership.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
