Saadhvish Films is looking to hire a Director of Photography for an independent, original Feature Film production in Uttarakhand. Though candidates from the Delhi NCR region are preferred, cinematographers all across India are encouraged to apply should they satisfy the requirements.

The ideal candidate will have outstanding technical proficiency, a unique creative perspective, passion for arthouse horror cinema and Indian spiritual topics.

The tentative schedule is as follows:

Pre-Production: September 2026-January 2027

Production: February 2027-March 2027 (40 days)

Technical Requirements

- 3+ years of demosntrated experience on professional film sets is a must.
- In-depth knowledge of cinema cameras/lenses, camera movement, shot compositon, lighting setups and color theory is a must.
- Proficiency with operating the ARRI Alexa 35 and related cinema-grade rigs is a must.
- Exceptional competency with cinematic lighting using/recreating natural lighting (daylight, moonlight and firelight), particularly in low-light conditions is a must.
- Applicants must have a friendly, can-do attitude while working on a dynamic workplace. Teamwork and coordination with production and using utmost professionalism is a must.

Nice-to-haves

- Formal education in cinematography or related fields (undergraduate or graduate degree) is strongly preferred, but not required.




- Awards/accolades from reputable film festivals and institutions is strongly preferred, but not required.
- Prior experience with large format Feature Films and TV Shows is strongly preferred, but not required .
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating with multiple camera units (2nd/3rd units) is a bonus .
- Demonstrated experience in adapting to difficult terrain and weather conditions is a bonus .

Scope of Work

- Collabrating with the Director and Art team to create a detailed shotlist, storyboards and relevant pre-vis material in preperation for the production schedule.
- Drafting an equipment sheet and subsequently leading camera tests.
- Participating in preliminary location scouts and subsequently executing technical scouts .
- Executing the shooting schedule in a timely, disciplined and professional manner.
- Oversee the Digital Intermediate process during post-production
