Role Overview
We are looking for a DevOps Intern with hands-on exposure to cloud-native infrastructure. The role involves working on Kubernetes platforms, CI/CD pipelines, traffic routing systems, and observability across multi-cloud environments. The candidate should be comfortable learning and troubleshooting real-world workloads end-to-end.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in deploying and operating Kubernetes clusters (EKS, GKE, or AKS).
Manage traffic routing and ingress systems for Kubernetes workloads.
Exposure with managing Karpenter for Kubernetes node provisioning and autoscaling.
Assist in ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance of production systems.
Build and maintain monitoring and logging stacks.
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows.
Automate operational tasks and reduce manual toil.
Assist in troubleshooting issues across networking, containers, and cloud services.
Collaborate closely with application and security teams.
Key Requirements
Strong understanding of Kubernetes fundamentals and architecture (control plane, CNI, CSI, upgrades).
Exposure to managed Kubernetes services (EKS, GKE, AKS).
Experience with traffic routing systems such as:
NGINX Ingress / NGINX Gateway
Kubernetes Gateway API (Gateway, HTTPRoute)
Experience with observability tools:
Prometheus, Grafana, Loki (or equivalents)
Basic hands-on experience with Karpenter for Kubernetes node provisioning and autoscaling, including NodePools and EC2NodeClass.
Basic understanding of Kubernetes troubleshooting and workload scaling.
Essential Skills
Strong CI/CD fundamentals; experience with Jenkins or GitLab CI.
GitOps experience (ArgoCD preferred).
Understanding of ingress, routing rules, TLS, and traffic strategies (blue/green, canary).
Experience with configuration and secrets management (Vault, Sealed Secrets, External Secrets).
Basic knowledge of scaling, performance tuning, and load benchmarking.
Working knowledge of AWS, GCP, and Azure (VPC, IAM, cost awareness).
Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Go.
Basic understanding of Karpenter and Kubernetes node autoscaling.
Nice-to-Haves
Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform, Ansible).
Linux system administration skills.
Container and network security exposure.
Exposure to multi-region or multi-cluster Kubernetes setups.
Familiarity with SRE practices and incident response.
Familiarity with advanced Karpenter concepts and configurations.
