Position: Head – Development (Pressing & Stamping)

- Experience: 6–10+ years in sheet-metal pressing, stamping, press tools, die design, and NPD.

Role Summary Drive the end-to-end Product & Process Development function for current and existing pressing/stamping components. You will lead projects from customer enquiry, RFQ, and DFM feasibility through tool design, trials, APQP/PPAP validation, to flawless mass production transfer.

Key Responsibilities

- NPD & Feasibility: Lead RFQ-to-SOP development, drawing/GD&T; reviews, DFM studies, timelines, and customer technical resolution.
- Tool & Die Development: Oversee progressive, tandem, transfer, and compound die designs, strip layouts, tool room coordination, and tryout approvals.
- Process & Simulation: Define press tonnage, SPM, blank sizes, and process flows; use engineering simulation to eliminate rejection, springback, and cracks.
- APQP & PPAP Management: Drive complete documentation (Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan, Work Instructions, MSA, Capability Studies, and customer PPAP approvals).
- Cost Engineering & VAVE: Optimize material utilization, blank layouts, cycle times, and tool life to hit targeted product costs.
- Production & Problem Solving: Provide shop-floor technical support,



resolve recurring dimension/forming issues using 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone root-cause analysis.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor design, development, and tool room engineers to build a high-performing technical culture.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Education: B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical, Production, Automobile, or Tool & Die Engineering.
- OEM Exposure: Hands-on experience in managing Tata Motors as a primary customer (APQP/PPAP protocols, quality norms, and technical interactions) is highly preferred.
- Technical Mastery: Deep knowledge of die design, DFM/DFA, GD&T;, forming simulation, tonnage calculation, and CAD (AutoCAD, CATIA, SolidWorks, NX).
- Quality Standards: Strong expertise in APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and MSA.
- Soft Skills: Hands-on problem solver, excellent customer-facing communication, and team management ability.
