Key Responsibilities
n1. Substation Design & Engineering
n
n
- Lead electrical design and engineering for AIS/GIS substations up to 220 kV .
n
- Prepare SLDs, Protection SLDs, schematics, wiring diagrams, control philosophies, and logic diagrams .
n
- Develop complete engineering packages in line with project requirements and applicable standards.
n
n2. Technical Documentation & Specifications
n
n
- Prepare and review Tender Specifications, Data Sheets, MRs, TBEs, DBRs, and Technical Specifications .
n
- Ensure all technical documents comply with customer specifications, project requirements, and applicable IEC/IS standards .
n
n3. Electrical Equipment Engineering
n
n
- Lead the sizing, selection, and specification of electrical equipment such as:
n
- CTs & PTs
n
- Power Transformers
n
- Switchgear & MCCs
n
- DC Systems & UPS
n
- Auxiliary Systems
n
- Other substation electrical equipment
n
n4. Power System Studies
n
n
- Perform and review Load Flow, Short-Circuit, Motor Starting, and other power system studies .
n
- Use ETAP for network analysis and validate results through engineering calculations where required.
n
n5. Electrical Calculations
n
n
- Perform/review engineering calculations for:
n
- Cable sizing
n
- Cable trays and conduits
n
- Earthing/Grounding
n
- Lightning protection
n
- Illumination
n
- Short-circuit forces
n
- Conductor sizing
n
- Sag-tension analysis
n
n6. Drawing & Layout Review
n
n
- Review and approve key substation drawings and layouts, including:
n
- General Arrangement (GA)
n
- Equipment Layouts
n
- Erection Key Diagrams
n
- Earth Mat Layouts
n
- Cable Routing/Raceways
n
- Grounding Layouts
n
- Lighting Layouts
n
n7. Cable & Wiring Engineering
n
n
- Prepare and review Cable Schedules, DB Schedules, Termination Schedules, Inter-Panel Wiring Diagrams, and Cable Routing Documents .
n
- Ensure proper coordination between equipment, panels, cables, and field installations.
n
n8. Quality & Engineering Compliance
n
n
- Review engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with:
n
- Project scope
n
- Customer specifications
n
- Applicable standards
n
- Quality requirements
n
- Approved design criteria
n
- Identify design gaps and ensure timely corrective actions.
n
n9. Project & Multidisciplinary Coordination
n
n
- Coordinate with Civil, Structural, Protection & Control, Instrumentation, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning teams .
n
- Resolve technical interfaces and engineering issues to maintain project schedules.
n
n10. Client & Stakeholder Management
n
n
- Lead project kick-off meetings, technical discussions, design reviews, client meetings, and progress reviews .
n
- Act as a key technical interface between the engineering team, client, consultants, and project management.
n

Team Leadership & Mentoring
n
n
- Lead and guide the electrical engineering team.
n
- Review engineering deliverables and provide technical direction.
n
- Mentor engineers and develop the team's technical capabilities.
n
n12. Continuous Improvement
n
n
- Maintain and update the Lessons Learned database .
n
- Drive engineering standardization, best practices, productivity improvement, and design quality enhancement across projects.
n
nnRequired Experience
n12–18 Years of Experience
n
n
- 12–18 years of relevant experience in Electrical Design & Engineering .
n
- Robust exposure to EHV/HV Substations within the Power Transmission & Distribution or EPC industry .
n
n AIS/GIS Substation Experience
n
n
- Hands-on experience in the design and engineering of AIS/GIS substations up to 220 kV .
n
n Engineering Leadership
n
n
- Proven experience in leading engineering teams .
n
- Ability to manage multidisciplinary engineering activities and deliver projects within schedule and quality requirements.
n
n Client & Project Exposure
n
n
- Experience in:

nnEducational Qualification
n Mandatory

- B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.

- Master’s Degree in Power Systems or Electrical Engineering will be an added advantage.
