A Planning Manager (Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical) oversees end-to-end multi-disciplinary project schedules, resource allocation, and cross-functional coordination. They integrate civil, electrical, and mechanical (MEP/EPC) workstreams into a unified master schedule, track critical paths, mitigate execution risks, and drive timely project delivery.
- Develop Schedules: Build comprehensive baseline programs using tools like Primavera P6 or MS Project.
- Integrate Disciplines: Sequence civil works (foundations, structures), mechanical installations (equipment, piping), and electrical hookups (cabling, panels) logically.
- Set Milestones: Define transparent phase gates, shutdown windows, and completion milestones for all engineering packages
- Track Site Execution: Measure actual physical progress across civil, electrical, and mechanical fronts against the baseline.
- Variance & Gap Analysis: Identify deviations, schedule slippages,
and productivity gaps early.
- Reporting Dashboards: Issue daily, weekly, and monthly management information system (MIS) progress reports and dashboards.
- Manpower Planning: Forecast craft labor and engineering team capacities required for each discipline.
- Material Management: Coordinate material and equipment delivery schedules with procurement teams to prevent site bottlenecks.
- Subcontractor Oversight: Review and integrate subcontractor schedules into the main master plan.
- Delay Analysis: Perform forensic delay analysis and critical path evaluations when setbacks occur.
- Recovery Plans: Formulate actionable recovery schedules to claw back lost time.
- Claim Support: Provide schedule data and impact analysis to support time extension or variation claims
