Ceramic Body Preparation Supervisor job role.
oversees the raw material mixing, milling, and batching processes in a manufacturing plant. They manage floor workers, check slurry and powder quality, maintain milling machines, and ensure safe, productive production targets are met before the shaping and firing stages.
Core Duties
- Mix Raw Materials: Supervise the crushing, proportioning, and wet or dry grinding of clay, minerals, and additives.
- Quality Control: Test slip, slurry, or powder properties like viscosity, moisture, and particle size.
- Team Leadership: Assign daily tasks, train operators, and guide shift workers.
- Machine Upkeep: Work with maintenance teams to service ball mills, mixers, and sieves to avoid downtime.
- Safety & Reports: Enforce safety rules and log daily output and material usage.
Skills and Requirements:
- Technical Knowledge: Strong grasp of ceramic raw ingredients, milling gear, and slip formulas.
- Education: High school diploma or a technical diploma/degree in ceramic engineering or materials science.
- Experience: Prior floor work or supervisory background in tile, sanitaryware, or refractory plants.
