Role Description The Ayurveda Doctor will provide evidence-based, protocol-driven Ayurveda consultations and inpatient care, focusing on root-cause diagnosis and individualized treatment plans.
Responsibilities include conducting detailed patient assessments, prescribing appropriate Ayurveda therapies and medications, monitoring clinical progress, and documenting all encounters in line with hospital and accreditation standards. The role also involves collaborating closely with allopathy specialists to deliver co-managed care under the hospital-in-hospital model, participating in interdisciplinary case reviews, and ensuring seamless integration with modern medicine when required. The doctor will educate patients and caregivers on lifestyle,
diet, and preventive health measures, support clinical audits and quality initiatives, and contribute to continuous improvement of treatment protocols.
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru.
Qualifications
- Formal Ayurveda medical qualification (MD in Roganidana evam Vikriti Vigyana) from a reputed institution, with valid registration from the appropriate medical council.
- Clinical expertise in Ayurveda diagnosis and treatment planning, including prakriti assessment, nidana (etiology) evaluation, and designing personalized therapy and medication regimens.
- Experience in inpatient and outpatient care, including supervision of Panchakarma and other classical Ayurveda procedures, with solid focus on patient safety and outcomes.
- Ability to collaborate with allopathy physicians and multidisciplinary teams, integrating Ayurveda with modern medicine in line with hospital protocols.
- Proficiency in medical documentation, use of hospital information systems or EMR, and adherence to NABH or similar quality and accreditation standards.
- Strong communication and counseling skills to explain treatment plans, lifestyle guidance, and preventive care to patients and caregivers in an accessible manner.
- Commitment to ethical, patient-centered care, continuous learning, and participation in clinical research, audits, or protocol development as needed.
- Prior experience in a tertiary-care or multi-specialty hospital setting is an advantage; working knowledge of English, Hindi and South Indian langauages are preferred.
