Role Description The Astronomy Teacher will deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons in astronomy and space science to school students at the Dwarka location in a full-time, on-site capacity.
Responsibilities include planning and conducting interactive classroom sessions, practical demonstrations, and telescope-based observations, as well as leading workshops, clubs, and outreach activities. The role involves designing lesson plans aligned with SPACE’s curriculum, evaluating student progress, and adapting teaching methods to diverse learning needs.
The teacher will collaborate with academic coordinators and other educators, support training initiatives, and maintain teaching materials and equipment.
The position also requires clear communication with students, school staff, and parents, and active participation in events, camps, and special programs organized by SPACE.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess robust Teaching and Education skills, with experience facilitating structured learning in science or related subjects.
- Candidates should possess effective Lesson Planning skills, including the ability to design curriculum-aligned, activity-based lessons and assessments.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills to explain complex scientific concepts clearly and engage diverse groups of learners.
- Candidates should possess Training skills to conduct workshops, demonstrations, and educator or student training sessions.
- Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Physics, Astronomy, Space Science, Education, or a closely related field is preferred.
- Demonstrated interest or experience in astronomy (e.g., sky observations, telescope handling, amateur astronomy clubs) is highly beneficial.
- Ability to manage classrooms, work collaboratively with school staff, and handle educational equipment and resources responsibly.
- Willingness to work with children and young learners, including participation in events, camps, and occasional extended hours as required.
