Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Artwork Approval Specialist to manage the end-to-end packaging artwork approval process. The role will ensure that product labels, cartons, wrappers, pouches, boxes, stickers, and other packaging materials are legally compliant, technically accurate, brand-consistent, and approved within timelines.

The position will coordinate closely with Quality, Regulatory, R&D;, Marketing, Packaging, Procurement, Production, Printers, and external agencies.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the complete artwork approval cycle from initial brief to final print-ready artwork.
- Review packaging artwork against approved product specifications, formulations, packaging specifications, and master data.
- Verify ingredients, nutrition facts, allergens, net quantity, Veg/Non-Veg declaration, FSSAI details, MRP, barcode/QR codes, claims, storage conditions, and statutory declarations.
- Ensure packaging artwork complies with FSSAI, Legal Metrology, Consumer Protection regulations, and other applicable requirements.
- Coordinate with Regulatory and Quality teams regarding changes in food labelling and packaging regulations.
- Verify product claims and ensure appropriate approvals before artwork release.
- Coordinate with Marketing, Brand, R&D;, Quality, Regulatory, Packaging, Procurement, and printers for artwork development and approval.
- Maintain artwork master databases, version control, approval records, and final approved files.
- Review printer/repro proofs against approved master artwork and ensure there are no deviations.




- Coordinate colour proofs, cylinder/plate approvals, print trials, barcode readability, and other critical packaging checks.
- Manage artwork changes due to formulation, regulatory, packaging, pricing, branding, licence/address, nutritional updates, and new product launches.
- Assess the impact of artwork changes on existing packaging inventory.
- Handle customer queries related to product packaging, labelling, product information, and declarations.
- Coordinate with internal teams to investigate and resolve customer queries within defined timelines.
- Maintain records of customer queries, responses, root causes, and corrective actions.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of FSSAI food labelling and packaging requirements.
- Knowledge of Legal Metrology requirements for packaged commodities.
- Understanding of packaging materials and printing processes.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify artwork errors.
- Excellent coordination, follow-up, and communication skills.
- Strong documentation and version-control capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple SKUs and artwork projects simultaneously.
- Valuable knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, and document-management systems.
- Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or Acrobat will be an advantage.

Experience Required

- 3-7 years of experience in FMCG, Food, Packaging, Regulatory, or Quality.
- Hands-on experience in packaging artwork approval is preferred.
- Experience with food labelling regulations and packaging compliance will be an added advantage.
- Experience in Customer Success / Customer Support, preferably handling product-related queries, complaints, and issue resolution.
- Strong customer communication and coordination skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and effective resolution of customer queries.
