Job Purpose
To manage Rewards, Compensation Design and Recognition programs for India by ensuring compliant compensation structures, implementing statutory changes, governing employee recognition programs, and partnering with internal and external stakeholders to deliver effective, compliant, and business-aligned Total Rewards solutions.
Authority
Authority to provide subject matter expertise on statutory compensation and reward-related matters.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Lead the design and implementation of compliant salary structures in line with the Code on Wages and other applicable Indian labour laws.
- Develop and review CTC structures for different employee categories, ensuring appropriate salary component bifurcation while balancing statutory compliance, taxation, business requirements, and cost optimization.
- Assess the impact of legislative and regulatory changes on compensation structures and recommend appropriate changes.
- Evaluate and implement changes to compensation structures, payroll practices, and employee benefits arising from business or regulatory requirements.
- nterpret changes in labour legislation and assess organizational impact to ensure timely implementation.
- Provide subject matter expertise on EPF, ESIC, Bonus, Gratuity, Code on Wages, and other statutory compensation requirements.
- Partner with HR, Payroll, Finance, Legal, and external consultants to ensure compliant implementation of compensation-related initiatives.
- Support annual salary revision, promotion, and compensation review processes from a compensation design perspective.
- Manage statutory audits, compliance reviews, inspections, and stakeholder interactions relating to compensation and employee benefits.
Competency Requirement:
- Robust subject matter expertise in Indian Compensation Benefits.
- In-depth knowledge of the Code on Wages, EPF, ESIC, Bonus, Gratuity, and other labour legislations.
- Demonstrated experience in designing salary structures and CTC architecture.
- Strong understanding of statutory contributions, payroll processes, and organizational cost implications.
- Ability to interpret legislation and translate regulatory requirements into practical compensation solutions.
Authority:
Authority to administer and govern the organizations Reward Recognition platform and programs.
- Manage the end-to-end governance of the organizations Reward Recognition platform, including workflows, award programs, budgets, and user access.
- Administer user lifecycle activities, platform configurations, campaigns, system enhancements, and release management.
- Monitor nominations, approval workflows, budget utilization, reward redemption, and management reporting.
- Act as the primary point of contact for platform users and coordinate with external vendors to resolve issues and implement improvements.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy, audit, access control, and governance requirements related to the Reward Recognition platform.
- Maintain vendor service levels, audit documentation, financial controls, and platform governance.
- Partner with HR, Finance, IT, Legal, Compliance, and external vendors to enhance user experience and drive platform adoption.
Authority: Authority to recommend improvements to Total Rewards processes, systems, and governance frameworks
Responsibilities/ Duties
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards related to compensation, statutory compliance, and Reward Recognition programs.
- Identify opportunities to improve reward processes, governance, automation, and operational efficiency.
- Support implementation of new Total Rewards initiatives, digital solutions, and process enhancements.
- Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and governance of employee compensation and rewards data.
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with HRIS and recognition platforms (Advantage Club) preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high levels of accuracy and compliance
- Timely design and implementation of compliant salary structures aligned with the Code on Wages and applicable labour laws.
- Accuracy and effectiveness of CTC structure design and salary component bifurcation across employee groups.
- Compliance with statutory requirements including EPF, ESIC, Bonus, Gratuity, and other applicable labour legislations.
- Successful implementation of regulatory and business-driven changes to compensation structures and employee benefits.
- Timely closure of statutory audits, compliance reviews, and audit observations related to compensation and benefits.
- Effective governance and administration of the Reward Recognition platform, including workflow adherence, budget management, and user experience.
- Adoption and utilization of the Reward Recognition platform across the organization.
- Accuracy and timeliness of reward, compensation, and statutory reporting.
- Stakeholder satisfaction with compensation advisory, statutory compliance support, and Reward Recognition services.
- Continuous improvement through process optimization, automation, and governance enhancements.
Qualifications
- MBA/Postgraduate in Human Resources or a related discipline.
- 6-10 years of experience in Compensation Benefits, Total Rewards, or HR Compliance.
- Demonstrated experience in salary structure design, Wage Code implementation, and statutory compensation compliance.
- Strong knowledge of Code on Wages, EPF, ESIC, Bonus, Gratuity, and related labour legislation.
- Experience working with HRIS, payroll systems, and recognition platforms (Advantage Club).
- Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and project management skills.
Specific Aspects:
- Extensive interaction with HR Business Partners, business leaders, global rewards team, HR Operations and external compensation consultants.
- Responsible for handling highly confidential compensation and employee data.
- Supports annual reward cycles, budgeting, and Total Rewards governance across India
