We are seeking a senior

Procurement Leader with extensive experience in

Steel, Mining, Metals, or Heavy Industry to lead strategic procurement and sourcing for the Indian subsidiary of

AIG – Afrzen

. The role requires solid commercial expertise, supplier management capabilities, and proven leadership across high-value procurement operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead strategic procurement and sourcing across materials, equipment, and services.

- Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with business, operational, and project requirements.

- Identify, evaluate, negotiate with, and manage vendors and strategic suppliers

.

- Drive cost optimization, commercial negotiations, and procurement efficiencies

.

- Manage purchase contracts, commercial terms, supplier performance, and procurement risks.

- Ensure timely availability of materials while maintaining quality, cost, and delivery objectives.

- Build strategic supplier relationships and develop alternate and backup sources

.

- Manage large-value procurement and complex supplier ecosystems.

- Track procurement budgets, savings, KPIs, and overall procurement performance.

- Partner with

Projects, Operations, Finance, Stores, and Engineering teams to align procurement plans with business requirements.

- Ensure adherence to procurement policies,



processes, governance, and compliance standards.

- Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team while driving measurable savings and performance improvements.

Mandatory Requirements

- 15+ years of overall procurement experience

, including

7+ recent years in Steel, Mining, Metals, or Heavy Industry

.

- Mandatory experience in

Steel or Mining

; Metals / Heavy Industry backgrounds may also be considered.

- Strong expertise in strategic sourcing, vendor management, negotiations, and cost reduction

.

- Proven experience managing large-value procurement and complex supplier ecosystems

.

- Experience developing and executing procurement strategies for business and project requirements.

- Strong experience in purchase contracts, commercial terms, supplier performance, and alternate sourcing

.

- Proven ability to lead and mentor procurement teams and deliver measurable cost savings.

- Strong commercial, analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.

- Experience collaborating with

Projects, Operations, Finance, Stores, and Engineering teams.

- Experience monitoring procurement budgets, savings, KPIs, compliance, and governance

.

- B.Tech is mandatory
