About the Role

GIAARA Atelier is looking for a creative and detail-oriented Fashion Design & Product Development candidate who can understand a design concept and help transform it into a wearable, commercially viable product.

This role is suitable for a fashion design student, fresher, recent graduate, or experienced fashion professional who has a strong interest in design development and wants practical exposure to the complete fashion development process.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop fashion sketches and design concepts from briefs and references.
- Convert ideas into clear and practical garment designs.
- Assist in developing new collections according to customer needs, market demand and current trends.
- Create mood boards, colour stories and collection concepts.
- Select suitable fabrics based on design, season, comfort, appearance and cost.
- Apply knowledge of fabric properties, textures, drape and suitability.
- Understand and apply colour theory and colour combinations.
- Create basic technical/flat sketches for garment development.
- Assist with basic pattern drafting and garment development.
- Research trends, competitors, customer preferences and market requirements.
- Work on new silhouettes, prints, embroidery and surface-design ideas.
- Coordinate with sampling/tailoring teams to develop prototypes.




- Review samples and suggest improvements in fit, fabric, colour and design.
- Maintain organized design files, fabric details, sketches and development records.
- Contribute creative ideas for seasonal and occasion-wear collections.

Education
- Diploma / Degree / Certificate in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, Textile Design or related field.
- Students currently pursuing a relevant course may also apply.

Portfolio Candidates should ideally submit a portfolio containing some of the following:
- Fashion sketches
- Design development sheets
- Mood boards
- Colour palettes
- Fabric research
- Technical flats
- Collection development
- Pattern/drafting work
- Previous projects or internship work

Freshers without professional experience are welcome to submit academic or personal projects.
