About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant US Accountant – Accounts Payable to support the Accounts Payable function for our US-based clients. The ideal candidate will have experience processing vendor invoices, reconciling accounts, maintaining payment records, and ensuring timely and accurate payments while adhering to company policies and US accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Process vendor invoices accurately and within established timelines.
- Verify invoices against purchase orders, contracts, and supporting documentation.
- Maintain vendor records and resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Prepare and process vendor payments through approved payment methods.
- Reconcile vendor statements and Accounts Payable ledgers.
- Monitor payment schedules to ensure timely payments and avoid overdue balances.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities related to Accounts Payable.
- Record journal entries and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Support audit requests by preparing required documentation and reports.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and US accounting standards.
- Coordinate with internal departments and vendors to resolve payment-related queries.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information and accounting records.





Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce (B.Com), or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in Accounts Payable, Accounting, or Bookkeeping.
- Exposure to US Accounts Payable or US Accounting processes is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks , FreshBooks , NetSuite, or similar accounting software.
- Solid proficiency in Microsoft Excel , including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis functions.
- Good understanding of accounting principles and the Accounts Payable cycle.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with US-based clients.
- Knowledge of invoice processing, three-way matching, vendor reconciliations, and payment processing.
- Familiarity with US accounting practices and financial controls.
