Experience
2–5 years of relevant experience in Lubricants / Industrial Lubricants Sales
Candidates with direct experience in lubricant sales will be given preference.
1. Job Purpose
To develop and grow the company's industrial lubricant business in the assigned territory by identifying new customers, developing existing accounts, providing appropriate lubrication solutions, generating trials and conversions, and achieving assigned sales and collection targets. The candidate will be responsible for both technical selling and commercial business development with industrial customers.
1. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Business Development
- Identify and develop recent industrial customers in the assigned territory.
- Generate new leads through market visits, references, networking and cold calling.
- Develop recent business opportunities and convert competitor products.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
- Expand the customer base and increase lubricant consumption per customer.
- Develop long-term relationships with key decision makers.
B. Industrial Customer Visits
- Conduct regular visits to industrial customers and understand their lubrication requirements.
- Study customer machinery, applications, operating conditions and existing lubricant usage.
- Identify opportunities for product conversion and cost optimization.
- Map customer equipment and current lubricant consumption.
- Maintain regular follow-up with customers for enquiries, trials and orders.
C. Technical Sales & Product Application The candidate should have a good understanding of industrial lubricants such as:
- Hydraulic Oils
- Gear Oils
- Compressor Oils
- Circulating Oils
- Turbine Oils
- Cutting Oils
- Metalworking Fluids
- Slideway Oils
- Spindle Oils
- Greases
- Specialty and Synthetic Lubricants
Responsibilities include:
- Recommend suitable lubricants based on customer application.
- Coordinate product trials and field evaluations.
- Monitor trial performance and prepare trial reports.
- Coordinate with the technical team for product/application-related issues.
- Support customers in lubricant selection and application.
- Identify opportunities to improve lubricant life, machine performance and maintenance efficiency.
Technical understanding and customer-specific lubrication solutions are important components of industrial lubricant sales roles. D. Competitor Conversion
- Identify competitor products being used at customer locations.
- Collect information on competitor brands, grades, prices and consumption.
- Develop conversion opportunities.
- Coordinate product trials and demonstrate product benefits.
- Follow up until successful conversion and regular commercial orders.
E. Distributor & Channel Support
- Support appointed distributors in the assigned territory.
- Conduct joint customer visits with distributors where required.
- Help distributors identify new industrial customers.
- Provide product and technical information to distributor sales teams.
- Monitor distributor stock, sales and market development.
- Ensure healthy business growth through the channel.
F. Sales & Commercial Activities
- Prepare quotations and commercial proposals.
- Negotiate pricing within approved company guidelines.
- Follow up on enquiries and convert them into orders.
- Ensure timely order execution in coordination with internal teams.
- Monitor customer outstanding payments and ensure timely collection.
- Maintain healthy receivables and adhere to company credit policies.
G. Customer Complaint & Service Support
- Attend customer complaints related to lubricant performance or application.
- Coordinate with the technical team for investigation and resolution.
- Conduct customer visits for complaint analysis whenever required.
- Ensure timely closure of technical and service complaints.
- Maintain strong customer relationships after sales.
H. Market Intelligence
- Monitor competitor activities, pricing and new product launches.
- Identify new industries, applications and business opportunities.
- Collect market information on lubricant demand and customer trends.
- Provide regular market feedback to management.

1. Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should be a result-oriented Sales Engineer with 2–5 years of experience in the lubricant industry, preferably handling industrial customers. The candidate should be capable of independently managing the complete sales cycle:
Lead Generation → Customer Visit → Application Study → Product Recommendation → Trial → Conversion → Order → Delivery → Collection → Customer Retention The position requires a combination of technical knowledge, field sales capability, customer relationship management and strong business development skills.
