Accounts Executive
Location- Mumbai THE ROLE
At Hunger Inc., we believe in creating memorable dining experiences through our exceptional brands, including The Bombay Canteen, O Pedro, Bombay Sweet Shop, Veronicas, and Papa’s. As an Accounts Executive, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring that the financial operations behind these incredible brands run smoothly. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting tasks, including bank reconciliations, invoicing, and payout settlements.
You’ll work closely with the Finance team to ensure timely tax filings and assist with audits, always striving for precision and efficiency in every task. Your work will support the growth and success of our brands, making sure everything adds up behind the scenes.
This role reports to the Director of Finance and will be based out of our Head Office in Lal Baug, Mumbai, with occasional visits to our brand locations.

YOUR TEAM
You’ll be a part of the Finance team, working directly with the Finance Manager.
You will collaborate with other team members to ensure that all accounting processes are smooth and productive, from invoice issuance to tax compliance. Your team will rely on you to manage day-to-day operations and to take ownership of your responsibilities while also contributing to process improvements and automation.
WHO YOU WILL REPORT TO
You’ll report to the Finance Manager, working together to ensure the financial operations of Hunger Inc. are accurate, compliant, and efficient.
YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
- Day-to-Day Accounting: Overseeing day-to-day accounting operations to ensure all transactions are accurate and timely.
- Bank Reconciliation: Regularly monitoring and reconciling bank entries to ensure financial accuracy.
- Cash Collection & Reconciliation: Managing cash collections and reconciling them against records to maintain accuracy.
- Invoicing: Preparing and issuing sales invoices, ensuring they are accurate and processed on time.
- Sales Closing: Handling the monthly sales-closing activity, ensuring all records are up to date and reconciled.
- Payout Settlements: Managing payout settlements with sales partners, e-commerce platforms, and digital payment partners.
- Accounting of invoices: Booking of purchase and expense invoices with TDS and GST compliance.
- Debtors / creditors ageing: Preparing weekly ageing report for debtors / creditors and following up for resolutions as required.
- Payments: Processing payments to vendors as per the payout timelines.
- Tax Compliance: Assisting with the calculation and processing of TDS, VAT, and GST, and collaborating with consultants for tax return filings.
- GST e-Invoicing:
Supporting the team in the preparation and submission of GST e-invoices.
- Audit Support: Assisting with statutory audits, tax audits, and GST/VAT audits to ensure compliance with all regulations.
- Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvements and automation to increase efficiency across the accounting function.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in accounts or finance, preferably within the hospitality or a related industry.
- Proficiency in Tally ERP and strong working knowledge of accounting principles.
- Understanding of tax regulations, including TDS, VAT, and GST.
- Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to handle complex data sets.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with team members and external partners.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines and ensure financial accuracy.
