About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager with hands-on experience in Canadian or Australian Accounting and strong General Accounting Operations expertise. The ideal candidate should have experience managing accounting operations, General Ledger, Month-End Close, Financial Reporting, reconciliations and accounting controls for Canadian or Australian clients/entities.

Candidates should have relevant market-specific knowledge such as GST/HST and ASPE/IFRS for Canada or GST, BAS and Australian Accounting Standards for Australia.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and oversee day-to-day accounting operations for Canadian or Australian clients/entities.
- Review General Ledger activities, Journal Entries, Accruals, Prepayments and accounting adjustments.
- Lead Month-End, Quarter-End and Year-End Close activities.
- Review Bank, Balance Sheet and Intercompany Reconciliations.
- Review financial reports, supporting schedules and accounting analysis.
- Support market-specific accounting and compliance activities.
- Review GST/HST-related accounting for Canadian entities where applicable.
- Support GST/BAS-related accounting activities for Australian entities where applicable.
- Ensure accounting activities are completed accurately and within established deadlines.
- Coordinate year-end close, audit and financial reporting requirements.
- Review accounting issues, investigate variances and ensure timely resolution.
- Manage communication with clients, internal stakeholders, auditors and finance teams.
- Guide and review the work of accounting team members.




- Support process standardization, SOP development and continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting controls, reporting quality and operational efficiency.

Key Software Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, MYOB, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets; experience with other accounting or ERP systems will also be considered.

Accounting & Compliance Knowledge

Canadian Accounting, Australian Accounting, General Accounting, General Ledger Accounting, Full-Cycle Accounting, Month-End Close, Financial Reporting, Bank Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, GST/HST, GST, BAS, ASPE, IFRS, Australian Accounting Standards, Intercompany Accounting, Internal Controls, Audit Documentation.

Qualifications & Skills

- Master's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA/CA or candidates pursuing/progressing toward CPA/CA will be preferred.
- 6-10 years of relevant experience in Accounting, Finance Operations or Accounting Management.
- Solid hands-on experience in either Canadian Accounting or Australian Accounting is required.
- Candidates with experience in both markets will be preferred.
- Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting and Month-End Close.
- Working knowledge of relevant country-specific accounting and compliance requirements.
- Experience reviewing accounting work and managing/mentoring accounting professionals preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets.
- Strong stakeholder and client management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict reporting deadlines.
