Job Description: Project Manager – Journals/Books

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to manage journal and book publishing projects from concept to completion. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2+ years of experience in full service project management, with a strong focus on publishing.

Location: Pondicherry/Chennai/Trichy/WFH

/n

Key Responsibilities:

/n

 Oversee and manage journal/book publishing projects from initiation to delivery.

/n

 Coordinate end-to-end journal and Books production, including manuscript processing, editorial

/n

reviewing, corrections, and final delivery to client platforms, including issue compilation.

/n

 Organize and attend meetings with publishers to discuss project requirements and progress.

/n

 Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, authors, and editorial teams; manage communication to resolve queries and ensure client satisfaction.

/n

 Track project schedules and ensure deadlines are met; monitor progress against SLAs and escalate issues to ensure on-time project delivery.

/n

 Coordinate with internal delivery teams to ensure project milestones are achieved on time.

/n

 Oversee quality checks on proofs, layouts, and metadata to align with client and publishing standards.

/n





 Maintain regular communication with customers and address any project-related queries.

/n

 Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues or challenges that may arise during the project

/n

lifecycle.

/n

Required Skills and Experience:

/n

 Minimum 2 years of experience in academic or STM publishing (journals/books), preferably in project management or production roles.

/n

 Experience working with digital client platforms.

/n

 Strong project management, client-facing, and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple

/n

projects simultaneously.

/n

 Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

/n

 Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel) and online workflow tools.

/n

 Positive understanding of the overall publishing process, ethical policies, and data management

/n

practices.

/n
