1. Role Overview Mercor is collaborating with aleading AI lab on a large-scale AI training initiative focused onimproving geographic reasoning, travel planning intelligence, andculturally grounded location-based analysis in advanced languagemodels. We’re seeking experienced Geography and Travel experts tocontribute by creating and evaluating geography- and travel-relatedprompts and responses. This is a multilingual chance. We arespecifically seeking experts who are fluent and deeply engaged inone or more of the following languages: Japanese, Chinese, Korean,Spanish, Russian, German, Arabic, Thai, Tamil, or Hindi.Importantly, we are not looking for translation ability alone.Candidates must have sustained, hands-on engagement with geographyand travel within their linguistic and cultural context — includingfamiliarity with regional destinations, transportation systems,travel norms, geographic terminology, tourism trends, and localcustoms. This role is ideal for serious travelers, travel writers,geography enthusiasts, trip planners, cultural researchers, ordedicated hobbyists who actively participate in travel andgeography discourse in their language ecosystem. 2. KeyResponsibilities Author realistic geography and travel promptsspanning destination analysis, itinerary planning, cultural norms,transportation logistics, climate considerations, and regionalcomparisons Review and revise AI-generated responses for factualaccuracy, cultural authenticity, practical feasibility, and clarityWrite high-quality human-authored “gold” responses for nuancedtravel scenarios, multi-city planning, or culturally sensitivesituations Create controlled prompt variations that test subtledifferences in seasonality, budget constraints, visa requirements,transportation options,



or traveler preferences Evaluate outputsacross different tones (advisory, informative, conversational,technical) and instruction constraints Identify model failure casesinvolving geographic inaccuracies, outdated travel information,unrealistic itineraries, or culturally inappropriaterecommendations 3. Ideal Qualifications 2+ years of sustained,serious engagement with geography and/or travel as a hobby orpractice (e.g., extensive travel experience, travel blogging,itinerary planning, participation in geography communities,cultural research) Active participation in geography and traveldiscourse within at least one of the following languages: Japanese,Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Russian, German, Arabic, Thai, Tamil, orHindi Strong familiarity with regional geography, local customs,transportation infrastructure, and travel trends within yourlanguage and cultural context Ability to clearly articulatelocation-based insights, travel logistics, and culturalconsiderations in the target language Strong written communicationskills and thoughtful editorial judgment 4.
