Position: Staff Nurse – NICU / ICU
Department: Nursing / Critical Care
Employment Type: Full-Time
Experience: 3–6 years preferred; relevant ICU/NICU experience will be an advantage
Qualification: GNM / B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing
Registration: Valid registration with the State Nursing Council

Key Responsibilities: Patient Care & Monitoring

- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in ICU/NICU.
- Monitor and record vital signs, oxygen saturation, neurological status, intake/output and other clinical parameters.
- Assess patients regularly and promptly report any deterioration or abnormal findings to the treating physician.
- Maintain accurate nursing notes, medication records, observation charts and patient documentation.
- Ensure safe positioning, hygiene, nutrition and comfort of patients.

ICU Responsibilities

- Manage patients requiring intensive monitoring and critical care.
- Assist doctors during emergency procedures, resuscitation and other critical interventions.
- Operate and monitor ICU equipment including ventilators, infusion pumps, syringe pumps, cardiac monitors and other critical-care devices.
- Monitor patients on ventilator and non-invasive respiratory support as per physician instructions.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products and other prescribed treatments safely.
- Maintain strict infection-control and aseptic practices.

NICU Responsibilities

- Provide specialized nursing care to neonates, including premature and critically ill newborns.
- Monitor neonatal vital signs, oxygen saturation, temperature, feeding and other clinical parameters.
- Assist in the management of neonates requiring ventilator/CPAP or other respiratory support.
- Safely administer medications, IV fluids, feeds and prescribed treatments according to neonatal protocols.




- Assist doctors during neonatal resuscitation and emergency procedures.
- Maintain incubators, radiant warmers and other neonatal equipment as per hospital protocols.
- Support parents and provide appropriate guidance regarding newborn care.

Emergency & Clinical Responsibilities

- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and initiate appropriate nursing interventions within scope of practice.
- Participate in CPR, Code Blue and resuscitation procedures.
- Prepare emergency medicines, equipment and procedure trays as required.
- Assist doctors during invasive and bedside procedures.
- Ensure timely collection and dispatch of laboratory samples.
- Observe and report adverse reactions, medication errors, infections or other clinical incidents immediately.

Infection Control & Safety

- Follow hospital infection-control policies, hand hygiene protocols and biomedical waste-management procedures.
- Maintain sterile/aseptic techniques during procedures.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and other safety equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of ICU/NICU beds, equipment and nursing stations.
- Follow patient identification, medication safety and fall-prevention protocols.

Documentation & Coordination

- Maintain complete and accurate patient records and nursing documentation.
- Coordinate effectively with doctors, nursing supervisors, technicians and other healthcare professionals.




- Participate in patient handovers and ensure continuity of care across shifts.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and hospital records.
- Report equipment malfunction, stock shortages and clinical incidents to the concerned supervisor.

Desired Skills & Competencies

- Strong clinical assessment and critical-care nursing skills.
- Good knowledge of ICU/NICU protocols and emergency procedures.
- Ability to handle critically ill patients calmly and efficiently.
- Knowledge of ventilator, monitor and infusion-pump management.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong observation, documentation and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in rotational shifts, including night duties.
- Compassionate, patient-focused and professional approach.
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Preferred Certifications

- BLS / CPR certification.
- ACLS certification for ICU positions.
- NRP certification for NICU positions.
- Relevant critical-care nursing training/certification will be an advantage.

Note: Candidates must possess valid nursing registration and be willing to work in rotational shifts, including nights, weekends and emergency duties. Must share their updated resume.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
