Agrochemical Production Incharge (or Chemical Plant Supervisor/Manager) oversees the daily batch operations, formulation, and packaging of pesticides, insecticides, fungicides, herbicides, and fertilizers. Given the involvement of hazardous chemicals and regulatory oversight, the role demands technical chemical expertise, process engineering knowledge, and plant safety management.

Key Skill Requirements

1. Technical & Operational Expertise

- Formulation & Synthesis Knowledge: Solid understanding of chemical processes such as emulsification, liquid mixing, granulation, and powder blending.
- Batch Production & Yield Optimization: Capacity to read Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs;), handle batch reaction setups, monitor cycle times, and maximize process efficiency.
- Equipment & Automation: Working knowledge of reactor vessels, boilers, distillation columns, centrifuges, rotary dryers, liquid filling lines, and PLC/SCADA automated control systems.
- Quality Control Integration: Ability to work closely with Quality Assurance (QA/QC) labs to enforce raw material specifications and chemical purity standards.

2. Safety, Health, & Environmental (EHS) Compliance

- Hazardous Chemical Handling: In-depth knowledge of handling toxic, flammable, and corrosive raw materials, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Regulatory Compliance: Understanding local pollution control norms, environmental disposal standards (ETP/STP effluent plants),



and chemical safety regulations.
- Risk Assessment: Hands-on experience with process hazard evaluations (HAZOP), emergency action plans, and incident investigation protocols.

3. Planning, Inventory & Maintenance

- Production Scheduling: Coordinating raw material availability, machine setup, and shift planning to meet weekly/monthly targets.
- ERP & Software Systems: Proficiency in software like SAP or Oracle ERP for inventory tracking, yield calculation, and material requisitioning.
- Preventive Maintenance: Coordinating with mechanical and electrical teams to maintain machinery and minimize downtime.

4. Leadership & Soft Skills

- Shift & Shop-Floor Management: Directing operators, line workers, and technicians on production shifts.
- Crisis Management: Quick decision-making skills during operational bottlenecks, leakages, or mechanical breakdowns.
- Continuous Improvement: Applying Lean, 5S, or Six Sigma principles to reduce waste and process variation.
