Roles and Responsibilities :Senior Paralegal

Draft, review, and quality-check US-standard legal documents — motions, pleadings, discovery responses, legal memoranda, case summaries, and correspondence — across criminal defense, family/matrimonial, and civil litigation matters.

- **Manage an active docket with minimal supervision; track deadlines, court calendars, and filing requirements across multiple concurrent matters. Conduct legal research using US case law databases and translate findings into clean, actionable memoranda for supervising attorneys.

Support e-discovery workflows including document review, privilege logging, and production management.

Team Leadership

Hire, onboard, and mentor a team of 5–15 paralegals and legal analysts; own their performance reviews, training plans, and day-to-day work allocation.

Establish and enforce quality benchmarks for all team output; conduct structured peer review before submission to US attorneys.

Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, style guides, and drafting templates for recurring matter types.

Identify skill gaps and design targeted training — particularly in US legal drafting register, citation formats, and procedural rules.

US Client & Attorney Interface

Serve as the India team's primary point of contact for US-based supervising attorneys; manage daily communication across time zones with responsiveness and precision.

Participate in matter kick-off calls, status updates, and client briefings as needed; prepare concise written status reports on active dockets.

Flag risks, delays, or quality issues proactively — never let a US attorney be surprised.

Operations & Compliance

Monitor team SLAs, turnaround times, and capacity; report weekly metrics to India Office Head and US leadership.





Enforce strict compliance with attorney-client privilege protocols, data security policies, and confidentiality obligations.

Drive adoption of legal technology tools — case management platforms, e-filing systems, document review software, and workflow automation.**

Paralegal JD: ExperiencedLawyer Paralegal (Litigation) - Chennai The Law Offices of SRIS, P.C., a dynamic and growing law firm, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced civil , family or criminal Paralegal to join our team in Chennai, India. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned legal professional with a strong background in Indian family law and litigation to work in a challenging and rewarding environment. The successful candidate will be a lawyer by qualification with a minimum of seven years of hands-on experience in all aspects of family law in India. You will play a crucial role in supporting our attorneys with a diverse caseload, ensuring the highest level of service for our clients.

Key Responsibilities: Independently draft a wide range of legal documents, including plaints, written statements, interlocutory applications, affidavits, and appeals related to family law matters., civil and criminal Conduct comprehensive legal research on various aspects of Indian family law, including divorce, child custody, maintenance, adoption, and property division.



Assist in the preparation and management of case files from inception to conclusion. Liaise with clients to gather information, provide case updates, and manage expectations.

Support attorneys in preparing for and during court proceedings, including the organization of evidence and documentation. Maintain and manage case calendars, deadlines, and schedules.

Required Qualifications and Skills: A law degree (LLM or equivalent) from a recognized Indian university. A minimum of Seven (7) years of proven experience as a practicing lawyer specializing in family/criminal law in India or corporate experience. Demonstrable litigation experience in Indian family courts.

Exceptional legal drafting and writing skills in English. Proficient in legal research using online and offline resources. Excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.

Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. Currently residing in Chennai, India. This is a full time, in-office position based in Chennai.
