Role Overview
DoctorC is looking for a skilled Senior Lab Technician / Scientific Officer to join our diagnostic laboratory team. The role will primarily focus on test result verification, validation, interpretation, and reporting, ensuring clinical accuracy and timely report release.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting & Result Validation – Primary Responsibility
- Review, verify, validate, and release routine and specialized laboratory test reports.
- Interpret test results and identify abnormal or critical values.
- Correlate unexpected results with patient history and previous reports.
- Escalate critical or doubtful results to the concerned clinicians/seniors promptly.
- Ensure accuracy and timely completion of reports while maintaining required TAT.
Quality Control
- Monitor daily Internal Quality Control (IQC).
- Understand and apply Westgard rules.
- Review EQAS results and support CAPA implementation.
- Maintain quality records and ensure compliance with laboratory procedures.
Laboratory Operations
- Handle and monitor automated analyzers and laboratory equipment.
- Perform or assist with calibration verification and troubleshooting.
- Follow proper sample processing and testing procedures.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and logs.
Compliance & Documentation
- Follow NABL/NABH/CAP quality standards and laboratory SOPs.
- Support audit readiness and maintain proper documentation.
- Ensure adherence to safety and quality protocols.
Key Requirements
- B.Sc. MLT or M.Sc. Biochemistry is mandatory.
- 3–9 years of experience in a clinical diagnostic laboratory.
- Strong experience in report verification, result validation, and reporting is preferred.
- Knowledge of IQC, EQAS, Westgard rules, and CAPA.
- Experience with automated laboratory analyzers is preferred.
- Knowledge of LIMS and NABL guidelines is an added advantage.
- Good analytical and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced diagnostic laboratory workplace.
