Job Purpose To manage day-to-day production planning, in-process quality control, manpower deployment and vendor coordination at the assigned vendor location, ensuring products are manufactured as per approved standards, on schedule, and are dispatch-ready with full quality compliance.Escalate critical issues to management on a timely basis
- Production Planning
- Review daily/weekly production plan with vendor
- Ensure production is aligned with dispatch priorities
- Rotational Coverage (Product-wise)
- Manage production coverage on a rotational basis for Covers, Cushions and other assigned products at the vendor location
- Ensure every product/process receives adequate supervision
- Rotate coverage based on workload, skill availability and production priority
- Manpower Management
- Identify skill gaps and arrange cross-training
- Monitor absenteeism and coordinate with vendor to arrange backup manpower
- Production Quality Control
- Conduct first-piece approval before bulk production
- Monitor critical quality parameters during production
- Ensure correct dimensions, stitching, seam, zipper, piping, labels, accessories and overall appearance
- Conduct inline and final inspection
- Stop production immediately in case of critical or repeated quality issues
- Process Control
- Ensure operators follow approved SOP/Work Instructions
- Verify machine settings and attachments
- Identify process variation and implement immediate correction
- Ensure approved samples/master references are available at each workstation
- Defect & Rework Control
- Track defects by operator, process and product
- Maintain daily rejection and rework data
- Conduct root-cause analysis for repeated defects
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Monitor effectiveness of corrective actions
- Vendor Coordination
- Act as the primary QC/Production coordination point at the vendor location
- Conduct daily production and quality review with the vendor team
- Communicate company requirements clearly to vendor personnel
- Escalate major quality, manpower or capacity issues to management
- Productivity Monitoring
- Monitor operator-wise and process-wise output
- Compare actual production against target
- Identify bottlenecks and capacity constraints
- Improve line balancing and manpower utilization
- Training & Skill Development
- Train operators on quality requirements and SOPs
- Conduct on-the-job training for recent operators
- Develop multi-skilled manpower through rotational training
- Maintain a skill matrix for critical processes
- Final Quality & Dispatch Readiness
- Ensure 100% compliance with approved quality standards before dispatch
- Verify packing, labels, quantity and product identification
- Ensure rejected/hold products are properly segregated
- Release only products meeting all quality requirements; maintain proper OK/Reject status
- Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare and maintain QC Inspection / Kit Returns / Re-Print reports
