Head the department and participate as Lead Piping /Pipeline Engineer on a multidisciplinary team carrying out FEED/ Detailed Engineering jobs for Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical and Power plants. Role & responsibilities

As the head of the department, will be responsible for review & approval of all the Piping/ Pipeline related documents (such as Piping/ Pipeline specifications, Plot Plans, GA drawings, Piping plans, Pipeline route maps, Alignment sheets, Pipeline typical section drawings, Piping and Pipeline calculations (wall thickness, branch re-inforcement, full vacuum design, road crossing, buckling, natural bend radius etc.), Stress Analysis report, Isometrics, etc.) generated by Piping department. Duties will require interaction with other disciplines, Vendors and Piping Contractors. The duties and responsibilities include (but not limited to) the following:

- Provide guidance to piping engineers to develop Plot plans, Piping layouts, Route maps and Alignment sheets.
- Develop or provide guidance to piping lead engineers to develop detailed Piping specifications, Valve data sheets/ specifications, special piping/ pipeline item specifications and requisitions.
- Identify critical lines and prepare the critical line list. Do Stress analysis and support selection or guide lead engineers to do the same.
- Review and approval of various piping/ pipeline related documents / drawings submitted by piping department.
- Guide lead engineers to do Technical bid evaluation/ Vendor drawing review
- Do man power planning based on the project fore cast
- Prepare piping man hour/ cost estimation by reviewing tender documents
- Closely monitor the piping design and detailed engineering progress to complete the project within the schedule and the budgeted man hours
- Identify additional scope of work for piping and raise the change orders as and when required based on the Clients need.




- Implement ISO 9001 procedures to achieve the desired quality for all documents/ drawings issued from piping department.
- Identify the training needs for department personnel
- Assist planning department to prepare feed/ detailed piping engineering schedule
- Participate in Hazop/ Project review meeting with Client.

Assist Project Engineer in the review/ verification of milestone payments.

Preferred candidate profile

- Minimum of Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in Piping/ Pipeline design works in the Hydrocarbon/upstream oil and gas industries. Shall be familiar with Piping International Codes and Standards like ASME, API, ASTM, BS, DIN, JIS etc.
- Experience as Senior Piping/ Pipeline Engineer in Engineering/ Oil &Gas; Companies. (Required).
- Experience in developing detailed plot plans, GA drawings, pipeline Route maps and alignment sheets
- Experience in the preparation of detailed piping/ pipeline specifications, requisition for bulk piping/ pipeline items, valves and special piping/ pipeline items.
- Familiar with piping/ pipeline calculations like wall thickness, full vacuum design, branch re-inforcement, road/ rail crossing, buoyancy, buckling and natural bend radius calculations etc.
- Good knowledge of Caesar II package to do stress analysis for above ground and buried piping
- Selection of pipe support
- Experience in Technical bid evaluation/ Vendor drawing review
- Piping man hour/ cost estimation by reviewing tender documents
- Experience in identifying type of tie-ins at site based on Clients need.
- Previous work experience in Middle east (preferred)
- Strong computer skills, including fluency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint (required)
