- Participate as a Lead Instrumentation Engineer in a multidiscipline team carrying out basic and detailed design for projects in oil and gas/petrochemical/chemical fields.
Principal responsibilities:
As the head of the department, will be responsible for review & approval of all instrumentation drawings and documents and co-ordination with other disciplines for smooth execution of the project. In general Lead Instrument Engineer shall be responsible, but not limited, for the following activities
- Review of ITB documents and estimation of man hours for FEED/ Detailed Engineering services
- Review of Client Contract documents after the award of the project
- Attend kick off meeting with Client
- Man power forecast based on the project need
- Preparation / approval of data sheets and material requisitions for Pressure gauges/ transmitters, Temperature indicators/ transmitters, Level gauges/ switches, Safety valves, ESD valves, Control valves, Choke valves, Flow meters/ transmitters, Junction boxes and Instrument cables/ glands
- Preparation/ approval of Control valve sizing calculation
- Review of documents in connection with other disciplines
- Co-ordinate with Project engineer to collect all necessary data/ inputs required from Vendor/ Client
- Co-ordinate with Project engineer for drawing/ document approval from Client
- Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to less experienced Engineers
- Closely monitor the Instrument man hours spent Vs allotted to avoid budget over run.
- Closely monitor the change of scope in project by Client and inform the Project Engineer to raise design change request for Client approval
- Attend HAZOP review
- Direct and / or participate in job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data.
- Will have to go on deputation to overseas clients in Middle East countries, based on requirement.Role & responsibilities
Preferred candidate profile
Qualifications and Skills required:
- Minimum of Bachelor of Science Degree in Instrumentation Engineering
- Minimum of 15 years experience in Instrumentation design activities in the Hydrocarbon/upstream oil and gas industry. Solid technical knowledge to work independently without any guidance
- Familiar with at least one major international oil company standards set
- Good communication skill to interact with Client/ third party/ Contractor to resolve technical issues
- Strong computer skills, including fluency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
