About the Role

Northstar Safety Systemz Private Limited is looking for a competent and experienced EHS / Safety Officer to manage and monitor health, safety, fire and environmental requirements at project/site locations.

The ideal candidate should have strong practical knowledge of site safety management, EHS compliance, safety inspections, risk assessment, emergency preparedness, contractor management and safety training.

Key Responsibilities

- Implement and monitor EHS policies, procedures and site safety requirements.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts and conditions.
- Conduct and support HIRA, JSA and risk assessments.
- Implement and monitor Work Permit Systems.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions and periodic safety training.
- Conduct internal EHS audits and maintain audit-related documentation.
- Monitor compliance with applicable EHS legal and statutory requirements.
- Prepare and maintain EHS Plans, WMS, SWMS and safety records.
- Manage contractor safety and monitor contractor compliance.
- Identify hazards and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain near-miss, incident and safety records.
- Conduct and coordinate emergency drills, including fire-fighting, evacuation, rescue and medical emergency drills.
- Inspect and monitor fire-fighting systems, including fire extinguishers, hydrant systems and fire pumps.
- Ensure availability and proper maintenance of PPE.
- Conduct periodic inspections using prescribed checklists.
- Inspect first-aid facilities and ensure required provisions are maintained.




- Support emergency response and incident investigation activities.
- Maintain records and documentation related to fire and safety systems.
- Coordinate with site teams, contractors and management to continuously improve safety performance.

Qualification

- Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical Engineering or relevant technical discipline.
- Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Safety (PGDIS) / Diploma in Fire & Safety will be preferred.
- ADIS
- Candidates with relevant EHS/Safety qualifications and practical site experience may be considered.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of EHS and site safety practices.
- Knowledge of HIRA, JSA, Work Permit System, EHS Plans, WMS and SWMS.
- Knowledge of fire safety and emergency response.
- Knowledge of safety inspections and internal audits.
- Good understanding of contractor safety management.
- Ability to conduct safety training, toolbox talks and induction programs.
- Valuable communication and presentation skills.
- Decision-making and problem-solving ability.
- Team leadership and coordination skills.
- Good computer and MS Office knowledge.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a team.

Experience Relevant experience in EHS / Safety / Fire & Safety / Site Safety is preferred.

Candidates with experience in construction, interior fit-out, manufacturing or project-site safety management will be considered favorably.

Compensation
