About the Role
Every time a match goes live on FanCode, millions of fans need to know about it — at the right moment, on the right channel, with the right message. That's what this role owns.
You'll be the person behind FanCode's user communications: crafting and sending push notifications, SMS, WhatsApp messages, emails, and in-app messages to keep users informed, engaged, and coming back.
Think of it as product marketing through a CRM lens — managing the full customer lifecycle, from activating newly acquired users to retaining and engaging existing subscribers.
Note on working hours: Live sports happen in the evenings, on weekends, and across time zones. This role works on a rotational shift basis, including weekends and match hours, to ensure fans are always covered. We're structuring this as a two-person team working in shifts.
What You'll Do
Multi-Channel Communications
- Plan, create, and send user communications across push notifications, SMS, WhatsApp, email, and in-app messages using our CRM/engagement tools.
- Ensure every live event on FanCode is supported with timely, well-targeted communication to relevant audiences.
Customer Lifecycle Management
- Own communication journeys across the user lifecycle — from activation of newly acquired users to engagement of active users and retention of existing subscribers.
- Identify the right cohorts and audiences for each campaign, and tailor messaging accordingly.
Live Event Coverage
- For every event going live, send notifications to relevant cohorts to build awareness and drive tune-ins — with speed and accuracy, often in real time.
Experimentation
- Run A/B tests on communication assets — including copy, creatives, timing, and channels — and use learnings to continuously improve open rates, CTRs, and conversions.
Reporting
- Track campaign performance and share regular reports with relevant stakeholders — including what was sent, to whom, and how it performed.
What We're Looking For
- A genuine sports fan — you follow sports closely, including cricket and beyond, understand what moments matter to fans, and instinctively know when a fan would want to hear from us.
- Eagerness to learn — you may not have used CRM/engagement tools before, but you can pick them up rapid and master them.
- Process orientation — you're organised, detail-oriented, and reliable; sending the wrong message to the wrong cohort is not an option.
- Comfort with data — you can read campaign metrics, spot patterns, and put together clear reports.
- An experimental mindset — you're excited to test, learn, and iterate on messaging.
- Flexibility with schedules — you're comfortable with rotational shifts, weekend work, and being available during live match hours.
- 0–2 years of experience — freshers, recent graduates, and interns with the right attitude are welcome.
Good to Have
- Prior exposure to CRM/engagement tools such as MoEngage, CleverTap, WebEngage, or Braze — or the willingness to get certified quickly.
- Experience or internships in growth, marketing, or product roles at consumer internet companies.
- Basic copywriting skills — short, punchy notification copy is an art.
