Role & responsibilities:

The Civil Engineer Greenfield Factory will be responsible for planning, design coordination, and execution of all civil and structural works for the edible oil refinery project. The role ensures high-quality construction, adherence to timelines, and compliance with industrial, safety, and food-grade infrastructure requirements.

1. Project Planning & Site Preparation

- Develop civil project plans, timelines, and resource requirements
- Plan site grading, land development, and drainage systems
- Coordinate and clearance, excavation, and site mobilization activities

2. Design & Engineering Coordination

- Ensure foundations and structures are designed for heavy process equipment (refinery columns, storage tanks, boilers, etc.)
- Validate drawings for RCC and structural steel works, Industrial flooring and pavements, Tank foundations and pipe racks etc.

3. Construction Execution

- Supervise day-to-day civil construction activities at site
- Ensure construction activities as per approved drawings, specifications, and timelines
- Monitor contractor performance and productivity
- Coordinate with mechanical and electrical teams for integrated project execution

4. Industrial & Food-Grade Infrastructure

- Ensure construction meets hygiene and food safety requirements like Proper drainage and slope design, Non-contaminating building materials, Pest-control-friendly structures etc.
- Oversee construction of Production buildings, Warehouses and storage tanks, Utility blocks (boiler house, ETP, WTP), Internal roads and boundary walls etc.

5. Quality Assurance & Control





- Implement QA/QC procedures for civil works
- Conduct material inspections and testing (cement, steel, concrete)
- Ensure proper curing, finishing, and durability standards
- Maintain quality documentation and reports

6. Health, Safety & Setting (HSE)

- Enforce safety standards and safe work practices at site
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies and legal requirements
- Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments
- Promote zero-accident culture on site

7. Vendor & Contractor Management

- Supervise and coordinate civil contractors and subcontractors
- Verify contractor bills and work progress
- Ensure timely availability of materials and resources
- Resolve site-level issues and conflicts

8. Compliance & Documentation

- Ensure compliance with local building codes and industrial regulations
- Support approvals from authorities and inspections
- Maintain drawings, BOQs, and as-built documentation

Qualifications & Experience:

- Masters/Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Experience in greenfield factory, Oil refinery or food process plant projects preferred

Skills & Competencies:

- Strong knowledge of industrial civil construction and structural design
- Familiarity with IS codes and construction standards
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Project planning and site management skills
- Competent in using MS Project/Primavera

Preferred Experience:

- Experience in edible oil, food processing, or chemical plants
- Exposure to EPC project environments
- Knowledge of food safety infrastructure requirements and hygiene design
