Marketing Executive – Apparel & Textile Distribution

Location: Kolkata, with regular market travel

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and result-oriented Marketing Executive to expand and manage our distributor network in the apparel and textile industry. The role will involve onboarding new distributors, driving sales, managing retailer relationships, coordinating local marketing activities, and ensuring timely payment collection.

This is a field-based role for someone with a strong understanding of textile and apparel markets, distributor networks, retailers, and sales growth.

Key Responsibilities

- Identify, approach, and onboard new distributors in assigned markets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and other channel partners.
- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets.
- Encourage distributors to increase order volumes and expand their retailer coverage.
- Regularly visit distributors, wholesalers, retailers, garment manufacturers, and relevant market areas.
- Coordinate retail marketing activities, including product displays, local promotions, branding, and dealer schemes.
- Monitor product availability, stock movement, sales performance, and retailer feedback.
- Follow up with distributors to ensure timely collection of outstanding payments.
- Maintain accurate records of sales, orders, collections, market visits, and distributor activity.




- Monitor competitor products, pricing, promotions, market trends, and new developments in the textile and apparel industry.
- Share regular sales, collection, and market reports with management.
- Coordinate with internal sales, accounts, dispatch, and operations teams to ensure smooth order processing and quick resolution of distributor concerns.
- Support new product launches and expansion into new textile and apparel markets.

Candidate Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field preferred.
- Prior experience in the apparel, textile, yarn, fabric, garment, or related distribution industry is mandatory.
- Positive understanding of textile markets, distributor networks, wholesalers, retailers, and sales channels.
- Experience in distributor onboarding, channel sales, retail sales, or business development will be preferred.
- Strong communication, negotiation, relationship-management, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to independently manage assigned markets and achieve sales and collection targets.
- Comfortable with regular market travel and field visits.
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel and sales reporting.
- A two-wheeler and valid driving licence would be an advantage.
