At Yellow Tree Interiors, we design homes that are functional, timeless, and tailored to every client's lifestyle. As we expand into specialty solid wood furniture, we're looking for a creative and detail-oriented Furniture Designer with strong expertise in teak and solid wood craftsmanship to join our team. Bringing custom furniture concepts to life from initial sketches to production-ready designs.

What You'll Do

Design custom solid wood furniture pieces, with a focus on teak, for residential interior projects

Develop concept sketches, 3D models, and detailed technical drawings

Select appropriate solid wood species, grains, finishes, and hardware for each piece

Prepare production-ready drawings with accurate dimensions and joinery specifications

Generate CNC toolpaths for carved panels, motifs, and decorative detailing

Work closely with carpenters and the production team to ensure traditional and up-to-date joinery techniques are executed accurately

Collaborate with Interior Designers to align furniture design with overall project themes

Review prototypes and finished pieces for quality, grain consistency, and craftsmanship

Stay updated on solid wood furniture trends, seasoning techniques, and manufacturing best practices





Troubleshoot design or execution challenges during production

Mandatory Skills

Strong Experience in Solid Wood Furniture Design, especially Teak

In-depth Knowledge of Wood Types, Grain, Seasoning & Wood Movement

SketchUp & Enscape

AutoCAD & Technical Drawings

ArtCAM (CNC Toolpath Generation for Carving & Decorative Detailing)

Understanding of Joinery Techniques (mortise & tenon, dovetail, etc.)

Technical Drawing & Detailing Skills

Attention to Detail & Craftsmanship

Ability to Collaborate with Design & Production Teams

Problem Solving & Hands-On Execution Mindset
