Role:

We are seeking an experienced EPUB/XML/PDF developer/editor to help build and refine digital publishing tools. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in document conversion, structured markup, and e‑publishing standards.

Responsibilities:

- Convert PDF documents into structured EPUB and XML formats.
- Ensure semantic tagging (headings, tables, lists, metadata) for accessibility and compliance.
- Maintain style fidelity between PDF and EPUB outputs.
- Collaborate on building an EPUB editor with advanced styling features (similar to Apple Pages/InDesign).
- Validate EPUBs using industry tools (e.g., EPUBCheck).
- Optimize workflows for large-scale e‑publication projects.

Required Skills:

- Strong knowledge of EPUB 2/3 standards and XML schema.
- Proficiency in HTML5/CSS3 for styling EPUB content.
- Understanding of accessibility guidelines (alt text, ARIA roles).
- Bonus: Experience with ProseMirror/TipTap/Quill for rich text editing.

Preferred Background:

- Prior work in digital publishing, e‑book production, or academic content conversion.
- Ability to handle complex layouts (tables, footnotes, references).
- Robust attention to detail and quality assurance.
