Job Title: Software Engineer (IV) - Premium Senior Engineer

Location: Chennai

Work Type: Hybrid (4 Days work From Office)

Position Description:

- Employees in this job function are responsible for designing, developing, testing and maintaining software applications and products to meet customer needs.
- They are involved in the entire software development lifecycle including designing software architecture, writing code, testing for quality and deploying the software to meet customer requirements. Full-stack software engineering roles, who can develop all components of software including user interface and server side also fall within this job function.

Key Responsibilities:

- Engage with customers to deeply understand their use-cases, pain points, and requirements, showcasing empathy and advocating for user-centric software solutions
- Solve complex problems by designing, developing, and delivering using various tools, languages, frameworks, methodologies (like agile) and technologies
- Assess the requirements of the software application or service and determine the most suitable technology stack, integration method, deployment strategy, etc.
- Create high-level software architecture designs that outline the overall structure, components, and interfaces of the application
- Collaborate with cross functional teams like product owners, designers, architects etc.
- Define and implement software test strategy, guidelines, policies and processes in line with organization vision, industry regulations and market best practices.
- Work on continuously improving performance and optimizing the application and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
- Familiar with programming practices, such as test-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery
- Support security practices to safeguard user data including encryption and anonymization.
- Create user-friendly and interactive interfaces
- Develop and maintain back-end applications like APIs and microservices using server-side languages




- Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies and capabilities to deliver their solutions, and are monitoring and participating in solutions for recent stack layers, often involving industry collaboration

Skills Required:

- SAP ERP

Skills Preferred:

- SAP ERP SAP consulting experience with advanced hands-on expertise in SAP FI Accounts Receivable, customer tax, and SD Order-to-Cash integration, including SAP S/4HANA implementations, rollouts, enhancements, transformation programs, and application support.
- Demonstrated experience designing, configuring, testing, deploying, and supporting end-to-end Accounts Receivable, SD billing, order-to-cash tax, and customer accounting processes as key functional competencies.
- At least two full-cycle SAP implementation engagements covering requirements, design, configuration, testing, data migration, cutover, go-live, hyper care, and stabilization.

Experience Required:

- Senior Engineer Exp: Prac. In 2 coding lang. or adv. Prac. in 1 lang.; guides.
- 10+ years in IT; 8+ years in development

Experience Preferred:

- SAP Expertise: Design and configure SAP FI capabilities with Accounts Receivable and customer tax as key focus areas, including Business Partner/customer master tax attributes, account groups, number ranges, posting controls, payment terms, dunning, incoming payments, clearing, residual and partial payments, reason codes, correspondence, and account determination.
- Provide expertise across complex AR and tax scenarios including billing tax postings, tax codes, condition records, jurisdiction or region-based tax determination, exempt and non-taxable customers, credit memos, debit memos, down payments, refunds, write-offs, lockbox, electronic bank statements, cash application, dispute handling, collections, and month-end reconciliation.
- Configure and support FI tax-related settings including input/output tax codes, tax accounts, tax procedure integration, tax GL determination, withholding tax touchpoints, reverse-charge scenarios where applicable, document splitting, validations, substitutions, currencies,



and financial closing activities required for an integrated FI solution.
- Map finance and tax processes to SAP S/4HANA standard capabilities wherever appropriate, including Universal Journal, Business Partner, SAP Fiori applications, tax reporting outputs, and modern AR analytics

- Bachelors Degree

Additional Information :

- Collaborate with SD, MM, CO, Treasury, banking, tax, legal, compliance, and integration teams to ensure coherent end-to-end process integration, especially sales order, delivery, billing, tax determination, invoice posting, customer account settlement, and revenue-related tax accounting.
- Work with developers and integration teams to define functional requirements for enhancements, invoice forms, tax interfaces, reports, workflows, APIs, IDocs, extensions, EDI outputs, and external tax engine integrations where required.
- Support finance and sales master-data design and migration activities for Business Partner/customer, tax classifications, exemption certificates or indicators, G/L accounts, open items, balances, credit data, payment methods, condition records, and relevant reference data. Project Delivery and Collaboration
- Act as the functional liaison between finance, tax, sales operations, product owners, project managers, developers, testers, architects, and other SAP workstreams. - Contribute to project planning, estimates, status reporting, risk and issue management, dependency tracking, and delivery of small to medium-sized FI AR, SD O2C, and tax initiatives.
- Maintain accurate functional documentation, configuration rationale, tax design rationale, test evidence, reconciliation evidence, support knowledge, and handover materials.
- Serve as an SAP FI Accounts Receivable and SD Order-to-Cash tax subject-matter expert and provide guidance, peer support, and mentoring to junior team members.
- Work independently while contributing effectively within Agile, hybrid, or structured project delivery models. Testing, Deployment, and Support
