Desired Candidate Profile: Job Title: Assistant Professor Department: Law Assistant Professor – Corporate Law Position Overview: The School of Legal Studies invites applications from dynamic, accomplished, and research-oriented legal academics for the position of Assistant Professor / Associate Professor specializing in Corporate Law. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research, curriculum development, academic administration, and institutional service. Specialization: Corporate Law Preference for expertise in one or more of the following areas: · Corporate Governance · Company Law · Mergers and Acquisitions · Corporate Finance and Securities Regulation · Insolvency and Bankruptcy Law · Corporate Restructuring · Capital Markets Law · Directors' Duties and Corporate Accountability · Shareholders' Rights and Remedies · Corporate Compliance and Regulatory Law · Corporate Insolvency and Restructuring · ESG, Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility · Corporate Law and Artificial Intelligence · Technology, Digital Businesses and Corporate Regulation Key Responsibilities: · Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Corporate Law, Company Law, Corporate Governance, Mergers and Acquisitions, Securities Law, Insolvency Law, Corporate Finance, and related areas, according to institutional requirements. · Develop and deliver engaging, contemporary, and research-informed courses using innovative and project-based pedagogical methods. · Design and supervise case studies, corporate law simulations, drafting exercises, transactional exercises, and other experiential learning activities.
· Conduct high-quality independent and collaborative research in corporate and commercial law and publish research in reputed national and international journals, edited volumes, and other scholarly platforms. · Supervise undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral research projects, where applicable. · Contribute to curriculum development and periodically update courses to reflect legislative amendments, regulatory developments, and emerging judicial trends. · Engage students in contemporary corporate law issues through seminars, workshops, guest lectures, conferences, and practitioner-led sessions. · Develop certificate courses, executive education programmes, and professional training programmes in areas such as Corporate Governance, M&A;, Corporate Compliance, Insolvency, Securities Regulation, and Corporate Legal Practice. · Establish and maintain academic and professional collaborations with law firms, corporations, regulatory bodies, insolvency professionals, financial institutions, and other relevant organizations. · Contribute to interdisciplinary research involving corporate law, technology, artificial intelligence, data governance, sustainability, finance, economics, and business regulation. · Participate actively in faculty committees, academic administration, institutional development, accreditation activities, and other responsibilities assigned by the School or University. · Contribute to faculty development initiatives and promote a cooperative academic environment.
· Participate in national and international conferences, seminars, workshops, and other academic and professional forums. · Mentor students and support their academic, research, mooting, corporate law, and professional development activities. Required Qualifications & Skills: · LL.M. / equivalent postgraduate degree in Law, preferably with a specialization in Corporate Law, Company Law, Commercial Law, Business Law, Securities Law, or a closely related discipline, from a recognized university. · Ph.D. in Law is Corporate Law or a closely related field. · NET or equivalent qualification, wherever applicable under prevailing regulatory and institutional requirements. · Strong knowledge of the Companies Act, 2013, and relevant rules, regulations, and judicial developments. · Familiarity with related corporate and commercial regulatory frameworks, including securities and capital markets regulation, insolvency and bankruptcy law, corporate governance, and merger and acquisition regulations. · Familiarity with relevant international and comparative corporate law frameworks is desirable. · Prior university-level teaching experience is desirable. · Candidates with significant professional experience in corporate law practice, transactional work, corporate advisory, M&A;, securities regulation, insolvency, or corporate compliance will be preferred. · Strong research, analytical, writing, and communication skills. · Excellent command of English, both written and verbal. · Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a diverse academic environment. · Commitment to innovative teaching, student mentoring, interdisciplinary research, and academic excellence.
