We are seeking a Principal IT Engineer to architect and advance scalable cloud-native platform solutions across a multi-cloud environment. This role will serve as a technical leader and trusted advisor, driving platform engineering excellence, modern infrastructure practices, observability maturity, and secure software delivery while enabling teams across the organization to innovate faster and more effectively.

- Architect and develop scalable platform solutions across multi-cloud environments with AWS as the primary platform and GCP as a secondary platform.

- Drive the evolution of enterprise platform capabilities, improving reliability, scalability, security, performance, and cost efficiency.

- Partner with business and application teams to translate business requirements into secure, compliant, and well-architected technology solutions.

- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform to enable automated and secure delivery practices.

- Build and operate containerized and cloud-native workloads using Kubernetes, serverless technologies, and modern platform engineering principles.

- Lead the maturity and adoption of enterprise observability solutions, including monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational insights.

- Embed security, compliance, IAM, and secure SDLC practices into platform design and operational processes.

- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends, including AI-enabled engineering practices, and introduce innovative solutions that enhance platform capabilities.

- Serve as a subject matter expert, providing technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to engineering teams across the organization.

This role requires





- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related rigor; Master's degree (MS or MBA) preferred.

- 8+ years of experience in platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, or related technology rigors with enterprise-scale delivery experience.

- Deep expertise in AWS services including EC2, RDS, IAM, Redshift, S3, EKS, Lambda, and FSx.

- Strong experience with Kubernetes, containers, serverless computing, and cloud-native architectures.

- Advanced proficiency in Python development, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and CI/CD automation.

- Strong understanding of web application architecture, software development lifecycle practices, and enterprise platform operations.

- Experience working with Linux and Windows operating systems in large-scale enterprise environments.

- Knowledge of data, analytics, and AI technologies with the ability to apply them to up-to-date engineering practices.

- Demonstrated ability to influence technical direction, mentor engineers, and drive adoption of engineering standard methodologies.

- AWS Professional Certification and Linux Administration certifications (RHCSA/LPIC-1 or equivalent) preferred.

- Experience working in multi-cloud environments, including AWS and GCP.

- Experience within regulated industries, particularly life sciences, with strong security and compliance focus.

- Application development experience and familiarity with modern software engineering practices.

- Exposure to High-Performance Computing (HPC) technologies such as Slurm, WDL, and Nextflow.
