Product Design Engineer Mechanical / Pneumatic

Job Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Product Design Engineer with experience in mechanical product development, reverse engineering, SolidWorks, pneumatic systems, prototyping, and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

- Reverse engineer automotive, pneumatic, and mechanical components and develop improved designs.
- Create 3D models, assemblies, manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and exploded views using SolidWorks.
- Design mechanical and pneumatic components such as valves, manifolds, fittings, actuators, reservoirs, and assemblies.
- Perform measurements, tolerance analysis, material selection, GD&T;, and basic engineering calculations.
- Develop prototypes and support testing, validation, troubleshooting, and design improvements.
- Work with manufacturing teams on DFM/DFA, machining, fabrication, welding, sheet metal, casting, molding, and 3D printing.
- Coordinate with vendors for component development, drawings, specifications, and quality issues.
- Support product development from concept design prototype testing production.
- Prepare and maintain BOMs, drawings, specifications, inspection documents,



and engineering change records.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, localization, weight reduction, and product improvement.

Required Skills

- 3–4 years of hands-on experience in mechanical product design/development.
- Robust working knowledge of SolidWorks.
- Experience in reverse engineering and new product development.
- Practical knowledge of pneumatic systems and components.
- Positive understanding of GD&T;, tolerances, fits & clearances, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and production support.
- Knowledge of automotive, industrial, machinery, or pneumatic products is preferred.
- Good problem-solving, communication, and vendor coordination skills.

Good to Have

- Knowledge of DFMEA, DFM, DFA, FMEA, root-cause analysis.
- Basic experience with FEA/CFD/flow analysis.
- Knowledge of hydraulic/electromechanical systems.
- Familiarity with PDM/PLM and engineering change management.
