As we scale our community-health network, clinics, digital-health solutions and population-health programmes, we are looking for a senior healthcare professional to strengthen clinical governance, quality and health outcomes across the organisation.

The Role
n
The Head – Clinical Governance & Population Health will provide organisation-wide clinical leadership and ensure that iKure's healthcare programmes, community-health interventions and technology-enabled care models operate with appropriate clinical standards, patient-safety mechanisms and measurable health outcomes.
n
This is not a conventional hospital-based role. The position combines clinical governance, population health, community healthcare, digital health, quality improvement and innovation.
n
The person will work closely with leadership, programme, technology, research and operations teams and will be a key member of iKure's senior leadership team.
n
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Governance & Quality
n
n
- Establish and strengthen iKure's overall clinical governance framework.
n
- Develop, review and standardise clinical protocols, SOPs, referral pathways and escalation mechanisms.
n
- Ensure appropriate standards for patient safety, quality of care and continuity of care.
n
- Lead periodic clinical audits, quality reviews and corrective-action processes.
n
- Establish measurable clinical and programme-quality indicators across interventions.
n
- Review significant clinical incidents and recommend system-level improvements.
n
n
Population Health
n
n
- Shape iKure's population-health strategy across community and primary-care programmes.
n
- Identify priority health risks and translate population-level data into appropriate interventions.
n
- Strengthen prevention, screening, early-risk identification, referral and longitudinal follow-up models.
n
- Guide programmes in areas such as NCDs, maternal and child health, women's health and other emerging priorities.
n
- Support development of outcome-oriented population-health frameworks for enterprise, government and development-sector programmes.
n
n
Community Health & iCHA Network
n
n
- Provide clinical oversight to iKure's growing network of community health workers/iCHAs.
n
- Define appropriate scope of work and clinical boundaries for frontline health workers.
n
- Strengthen protocols for community screening, risk identification, referral, adherence and follow-up.
n
- Guide training, competency assessment, refresher programmes and clinical mentoring for iCHAs.
n
- Work with programme teams to improve quality and consistency across different geographies.
n
n
Digital Health & WHIMS
n
n
- Work closely with the technology team to translate clinical pathways into effective workflows within WHIMS.
n
- Guide development of clinical protocols, alerts, referral pathways and follow-up mechanisms within the platform.
n
- Review clinical and population-health dashboards to identify gaps and opportunities for intervention.
n
- Contribute to responsible use of AI, clinical decision-support tools and emerging digital-health technologies.
n
- Ensure that technology strengthens clinical decision-making without replacing appropriate professional judgement.
n

Clinics, Telehealth & Continuity of Care
n
n
- Strengthen clinical standards across iKure clinics and telemedicine programmes.
n
- Develop integrated care pathways connecting community screening, doctors, diagnostics, pharmacies and referral hospitals.
n
- Improve follow-up and longitudinal management for chronic conditions.
n
- Establish appropriate referral and escalation pathways for patients requiring higher levels of care.
n
n
Research, Evidence & Innovation
n
n
- Work with the research team to strengthen clinical protocols, outcome measures and evidence-generation frameworks.
n
- Provide clinical inputs into research studies, pilots and publications.
n
- Support evaluation of MedTech, diagnostics, digital-health and AI solutions before and during field deployment.
n
- Help translate promising healthcare innovations into safe, practical and scalable care models.
n
- Contribute to collaborations with academic institutions, hospitals and research organisations.
n
n
Training & Capability Building
n
n
- Develop structured clinical training and mentoring frameworks for programme and frontline teams.
n
- Build mechanisms for continuous clinical learning and quality improvement.
n
- Support development of training content and competency standards for different healthcare roles.
n
- Mentor clinical and programme teams across the organisation.
n
n
Partnerships & External Engagement
n
n
- Represent iKure's clinical and population-health perspective in discussions with healthcare organisations, government, academia, funders and strategic partners.
n
- Provide clinical inputs into new partnerships, proposals and programme designs.
n
- Engage with hospitals, clinicians and healthcare institutions to strengthen referral and specialist networks.
n
- Participate in clinical advisory groups and strategic initiatives where required.
n

Candidate ProfileEssential
n
n
- MBBS degree with valid medical registration.
n
- Significant professional experience in healthcare, with demonstrated clinical or healthcare leadership responsibility.
n
- Experience in one or more of the following: primary healthcare, public health,
community health, clinical governance, healthcare quality or population health.
n
- Ability to develop and implement clinical protocols and quality systems.
n
- Strong understanding of patient safety, referral pathways and continuity of care.
n
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams across clinical, technology, programme and operational functions.
n
- Strong communication, mentoring and leadership skills.
n
n
Preferred
n
n
- MD/DNB or other relevant postgraduate clinical qualification.
n
- MPH, public-health or healthcare-management qualification.
n
- Experience with digital health, telemedicine or technology-enabled healthcare.
n
- Experience managing large community or population-health programmes.
n
- Exposure to NCDs, maternal and child health or chronic-care programmes.
n
- Experience in research, evidence generation or implementation science.
n
- Exposure to MedTech, diagnostics or healthcare innovation.
n
- Experience working with government, foundations, international organisations or academic partners.
