The Role
n
As a Key Account Manager at Amber, you will own a portfolio of strategic accommodation partners and act as the primary point of contact between Amber and the provider.
n
You will be responsible for ensuring that our partners see Amber as a growth partner, not just a distribution channel.
n
The role combines relationship management, commercial ownership, inventory management, data-driven decision-making, and cross-functional execution.
n
You will work closely with Sales, Inventory, Revenue, Marketing, Operations and leadership teams to maximise the performance of your accounts.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
1. Own Strategic Partner Relationships
n
n
- Build strong, trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across key accommodation providers.
n
- Act as the single point of ownership for assigned accounts.
n
- Understand partner business objectives, challenges, priorities and growth plans.
n
- Conduct regular business reviews with partners and establish clear action plans.
n
- Proactively identify opportunities to deepen and expand the partnership.
n
n
2. Drive Commercial Performance
n
n
- Own the commercial performance of assigned accounts, including bookings, revenue, conversion and inventory utilisation.
n
- Identify performance gaps and develop account-level strategies to improve outcomes.
n
- Work with partners on pricing, promotions, availability and commercial campaigns.
n
- Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling and expanding Amber's share of partner inventory.
n
- Negotiate and execute commercial initiatives that create value for both Amber and the partner.
n

3. Inventory & Availability Management
n
n
- Work closely with the Inventory team to ensure the right inventory is available at the right time.
n
- Monitor availability, pricing, booking trends and inventory health.
n
- Identify potential supply gaps and proactively work with partners to address them.
n
- Ensure partners are aligned with Amber's inventory and operational requirements.
n
- Drive timely resolution of inventory-related issues impacting student bookings.
n
n
4. Data & Business Reviews
n
n
- Use data and account performance metrics to identify trends, opportunities and risks.
n
- Prepare and conduct periodic business reviews with strategic partners.
n
- Translate data into clear recommendations and commercial actions.
n
- Track account-level KPIs and ensure consistent delivery against agreed targets.
n
- Build a strong understanding of market, destination and competitor dynamics.
n
n
5. Cross-functional Leadership
n
n
- Work closely with Sales, Inventory, Revenue, Marketing, Operations and Finance teams to deliver partner outcomes.
n
- Ensure partner requirements are translated into clear internal actions and ownership.
n
- Drive issues to closure rather than simply escalating them.
n
- Maintain strong internal communication on account priorities, risks and opportunities.
n
- Represent the voice of the partner within Amber.
n
n
6. Strategic Account Growth
n
n
- Develop account plans for the highest-value partners.
n
- Identify opportunities to increase Amber's share of wallet with existing partners.
n
- Build long-term partnership strategies aligned with Amber's growth plans.
n
- Identify current opportunities within existing accounts, including new properties, destinations and markets.
n
- Support leadership in strategic negotiations and high-value partner conversations.
n

What We're Looking For
n
Must Have
n
n
- 4+ years of experiencein Key Account Management, Account Management, Partnerships, Business Development or a similar commercial role.
n
- Strong experience managingB2B relationships, preferably with large or strategic accounts.
n
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive initiatives from planning to execution.
n
- Strong commercial understanding and comfort working with numbers, metrics and business targets.
n
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
n
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to independently solve problems.
n
- Ability to work effectively across multiple internal teams.
n
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
n
- Willingness to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Good to Have

- Experience in travel, hospitality, student accommodation, real estate, marketplace or other platform businesses.

- Experience managing international clients or partners.

- Experience working with inventory, pricing, revenue or supply-side teams.
