Job Title: Genetic Counselor, Precision Oncology and Hereditary Cancers Location: New Delhi, Delhi, India, On site

We are seeking a Genetic Counselor to serve as the crucial clinical link between our advanced sequencing pipelines and the patients we treat.
Patient Counseling and Risk Assessment:
Provide comprehensive pre test and post test genetic counseling for patients and their families regarding hereditary cancer syndromes, such as BRCA1 and BRCA2, Lynch Syndrome, and FAP, as well as somatic tumor profiling.
Construct and analyze detailed multigenerational family pedigrees, utilizing established risk assessment models to determine the probability of inherited cancer predispositions.
Clearly explain complex test results, including pathogenic variants, benign variants, and Variants of Uncertain Significance, in empathetic, culturally sensitive, and accessible language.
Clinical Integration and Multidisciplinary Collaboration:
Serve as a core member of the KPCIRC Molecular Tumor Board, actively contributing genomic expertise to help oncologists formulate personalized, targeted therapy plans based on molecular biomarkers.
Collaborate with computational biology and diagnostic teams to review variant interpretations, ensuring that AI driven insights align with clinical realities.
Coordinate seamlessly with Patient Navigators to ensure patients are efficiently scheduled for testing, prophylactic surgeries, or high risk cancer screening programs based on their genetic results.
Facilitate discussions on cascade testing for at risk family members and guide patients on how to communicate genetic risks to their relatives.
Navigate the complex ethical and legal landscape of genetic testing, including data privacy, genetic discrimination, and informed consent.
Provide empathetic, short term psychosocial counseling to patients and their families to help them process the shock of a cancer diagnosis, prognosis, and the complexities of their precision medicine treatment plan.
Research and Academic Contributions:
Assist in identifying and consenting eligible patients for genomics driven clinical trials and translational research studies at KPCIRC.
Collaborate with the educational arm, the InSilico Academy of Genomic Sciences, to develop patient education materials, present case studies, and mentor junior staff or students in clinical genomics.
Maintain accurate and detailed case records, contributing to proprietary clinico genomic databases to help refine internal AI models.
Master degree in Genetic Counseling, Medical Genetics, or a closely related clinical genetics field from a recognized university.
~2-5 years of clinical experience as a Genetic Counselor.
~ Outstanding empathetic communication skills and the ability to hold space for patients experiencing high distress.
