About the Role

Instamart is looking for a visionary, high-caliber General Manager – Design Solutions to serve as our Creative Director. In this senior leadership role, you will champion visual excellence, orchestrate cross-functional creative outputs, and raise the benchmark for quick-commerce brand storytelling.

You will lead, inspire, and scale a multi-disciplinary team encompassing Visual Design, Motion Graphics, Animation, Content, VFX, and Creative Visualisation. This role requires a rare blend of elite craft expertise, strategic business acumen, and rigorous operational management. As a custodian of our culture, you will embody Swiggy’s core operating principles—ensuring that while we think big, we always keep the consumer first, stay humble in our execution, and never settle for status-quo design.

Responsibilities:

Creative Leadership & Talent Cultivation

- Never Settle on Craft: Serve as the ultimate custodian of the Instamart brand aesthetic on the Instamart app, continuously pushing past previous creative limits and raising the benchmark for taste and visual innovation.
- Inspire with Humility: Lead a high-performing multi disciplinary team by example. Be humble, stay grounded in your leadership, and foster a psychologically safe culture where the team can experiment, learn, and grow.
- Always Curious, Always Learning: Encourage continuous upskilling across advanced grid systems, 3D composition, visual design trends and cutting-edge motion workflows,



ensuring the team stays ahead of industry trends.

AI Integration & Innovation Excellence

- Workflow Inculcation: Systematically integrate state-of-the-art Generative AI technologies into our existing studio workflows to optimize the end-to-end creative pipeline.
- Mundane Workflow Automation: Mandate and drive 100% adoption of AI tooling across the entire creative team. Empower every member to automate repetitive, low-leverage execution tasks (e.g., resizing, basic rotoscoping, asset variation generation).
- Push Boundaries with AI: Leverage advanced AI platforms to accelerate rapid prototyping, visual exploration, and mood-boarding—using technology to unlock bolder ideas and highly innovative visual concepts.
- Culture of AI Excellence: Establish and cultivate a center of excellence for AI within the studio. Lead regular training, define ethical usage frameworks, and benchmark your team against global best practices in tech-driven design.

Strategic Solutions & Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Consumer Comes First: Partner with Product, Growth, and Category Marketing to solve complex commercial problems, ensuring every visual artifact serves to delight and clarify the user journey.
- Think Big & Win-Win: Ideate and pitch ambitious, blockbuster visual universes for mega festive IPs (e.g., Diwali, Navratri, Rakhi, Holi), creating shared value for our brand partners, vendors, and business ecosystems.
- Disagree and Commit: Actively participate in strategic creative debates with cross-functional leaders. Bring a strong voice to the table to stand up and disagree when necessary,



but commit fully once a unified direction is chosen.

Operations, Production, & Scaling

- Move Fast & Deliver Results: Standardize operational pipelines to manage high-volume creative requests, acting with the speed, agility, and urgency required to thrive in a hyper-growth quick-commerce environment.
- Do More with Less: Architect scalable design automation and asset-generation frameworks. Practice high resourcefulness and efficiency to maximize creative throughput without compromising on quality or premium aesthetic value.
- Integrity in Execution: Lead with transparency and accountability, ensuring the highest level of qualified honesty and integrity across internal teams and external agency partnerships.

Qualifications

- Experience: 9+ years of progressive experience within top-tier creative agencies, consumer tech companies, or production houses, with at least 4+ years in a senior leadership/Creative Director capacity.

- Portfolio: A world-class, diverse portfolio showcasing mastery in visual design, art direction, large-scale commercial campaigns, and high-end motion/animation design.

- Technical Literacy: Proficient knowledge of industry-standard creative pipelines, infrastructure, and toolsets across the Adobe Creative Suite, Cinema 4D, Blender, After Effects, and emerging AI-assisted generation workflows.

- Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication, storytelling, and persuasion skills, with a proven track record of breaking down complex business metrics into intuitive visual solutions.

- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fine Arts, Visual Communication, Graphic Design, or global equivalents is preferred.
