Position Overview:

The School of Legal Studies invites applications from dynamic, accomplished, and research-oriented legal academics for the position of Assistant Professor / Associate Professor specializing in Corporate Law. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research, curriculum development, academic administration, and institutional service.

Key Responsibilities:
n
· Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Corporate Law, Company Law, Corporate Governance, Mergers and Acquisitions, Securities Law, Insolvency Law, Corporate Finance, and related areas, according to institutional requirements.
n
· Develop and deliver engaging, contemporary, and research-informed courses using innovative and project-based pedagogical methods.
n
· Design and supervise case studies, corporate law simulations, drafting exercises, transactional exercises, and other experiential learning activities.
n
· Conduct high-quality independent and collaborative research in corporate and commercial law and publish research in reputed national and international journals, edited volumes, and other scholarly platforms.
n
· Supervise undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral research projects, where applicable.
n
· Contribute to curriculum development and periodically update courses to reflect legislative amendments, regulatory developments, and emerging judicial trends.
n
· Engage students in contemporary corporate law issues through seminars, workshops, guest lectures, conferences, and practitioner-led sessions.
n
· Develop certificate courses, executive education programmes, and professional training programmes in areas such as Corporate Governance, M&A;, Corporate Compliance, Insolvency, Securities Regulation, and Corporate Legal Practice.
n
· Establish and maintain academic and professional collaborations with law firms, corporations, regulatory bodies, insolvency professionals, financial institutions, and other relevant organizations.
n
· Contribute to interdisciplinary research involving corporate law, technology, artificial intelligence, data governance, sustainability, finance, economics, and business regulation.
n
· Participate actively in faculty committees, academic administration, institutional development, accreditation activities, and other responsibilities assigned by the School or University.
n
· Contribute to faculty development initiatives and promote a team-oriented academic environment.
n
· Participate in national and international conferences, seminars, workshops, and other academic and professional forums.
n
· Mentor students and support their academic, research, mooting, corporate law, and professional development activities.
n
Required Qualifications & Skills:
n
· LL.M. / equivalent postgraduate degree in Law, preferably with a specialization in Corporate Law, Company Law, Commercial Law, Business Law, Securities Law, or a closely related discipline, from a recognized university.
n
· Ph.D. in Law is Corporate Law or a closely related field.
n
· NET or equivalent qualification, wherever applicable under prevailing regulatory and institutional requirements.
n
· Strong knowledge of the Companies Act, 2013, and relevant rules, regulations, and judicial developments.
n
· Familiarity with related corporate and commercial regulatory frameworks, including securities and capital markets regulation, insolvency and bankruptcy law, corporate governance, and merger and acquisition regulations.
n
· Familiarity with relevant international and comparative corporate law frameworks is desirable.
n
· Prior university-level teaching experience is desirable.
n
· Candidates with significant professional experience in corporate law practice, transactional work, corporate advisory, M&A;, securities regulation, insolvency, or corporate compliance will be preferred.
n
· Strong research, analytical, writing, and communication skills.
n
· Excellent command of English, both written and verbal.
n
· Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a diverse academic environment.
n
