The Automation Designer is responsible for designing and building lightweight automation solutions based on requirements provided by Black Belt / Process Excellence teams. This role focuses on Google ecosystem automation, scripting, and data handling rather than heavy enterprise development.
This is not a fullstack developer role, but a solution builder role.
Main Responsibilities:
Build workflow automations using Google Apps Script across:
Google Sheets
Docs
Forms
Gmail
Design and manage solutions within Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Develop Python scripts for data processing, validation, and automation.
Write SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
Configure and manage:
Google Workspace
User access
Admin controls (Google Admin Console)
Design automation solutions based on:
Process logic
Business rules
Exception handling supplied by PEX Support / Black Belt teams
Perform unit testing and support UAT cycles.
Document solution design, scripts, and technical handover notes.
Actively participate in solution exploration workshops.
Provide feasibility and complexity input during design stage.
Work under guidance of Automation Engineer / Lead when needed.
Ensure solutions meet security, scalability, and data governance standards
Qualification:
Must Have
Bachelors degree (Engineering, Business, Statistics, Quality)
Minimum of 2 years of experience in App scripts or GCP
Google Apps Script (handson)
Python scripting
SQL (basic to intermediate)
Google Workspace administration basics
