To manage the carpet compounding process during the shift and ensure protected, smooth and consistent production of latex compound as per required quality and production standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and monitor the carpet compounding process as per SOP and formulation.
Ensure correct weighing and mixing of latex, chemicals, fillers and other raw materials.
Monitor significant process parameters such as viscosity, pH, temperature and density.
Ensure the required quantity and quality of compound is supplied to the carpet coating section on time.
Check batch quality and coordinate with the Quality team for testing and approval.
Maintain production, batch and process records.
Monitor raw material consumption and minimize material wastage.
Handle shift manpower and ensure proper work allocation.
Coordinate with Maintenance for machine breakdowns and equipment-related issues.
Ensure proper cleaning,
housekeeping and 5S in the compounding area.
Follow all safety procedures and ensure proper use of PPE.
Identify process problems and take corrective action in coordination with seniors.
Support productivity improvement, cost reduction and Kaizen activities.
Prepare proper shift handover and communicate production and process issues to the next shift.
Qualification
B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in:
Chemical Engineering
Polymer Technology
Rubber Technology
Plastic Technology
Textile Technology
Other relevant engineering disciplines
Experience
2 to 5 years of experience in compounding, latex, rubber, polymer, chemical processing or similar manufacturing operations.
Freshers with relevant technical qualifications may also be considered for suitable entry-level positions.
